I am rejecting [redacted] ***'s latest response for several reasons:1. The parts that he listed would only take an hour or two for a mechanic to install. So, where does he get over $1600? That is how I came up with paying him $500. For his parts and labor.2.. Along that same thinking, my wife and I asked several times about how much we owed him to that particular time or how much it would be when finished. Each time he just answered "don't worry about it. Hardly anything". So we were totally shocked when 5 months later we got a bill for $2000.3. [redacted] made several mechanical misjudgments, that no professional mechanic should have made. Other mechanics that I consulted for second opinions were in disbelief. When I took the car to the next mechanic he charged me a total of $5500 and all but $400 was to find and correct [redacted] mistakes . That is how I arrived at $2500 that I thought [redacted] should pay me. That he should pay one half of what was unnecessary. ***s Automotive cleaned out the gas tank for $400 and that was the only thing he did not related to [redacted] work.4. I do know that good people, at times, make mistakes. But, a mechanic just needs to be able to recognize a defective condenser, especially when he is the person that installed it. A mechanic needs to know to tighten battery cables He should know when a radial tire is properly installed. He needs to attach the coil wires properly. This is why the car ran well going in to [redacted] garage, but ran poorly after it left and needed to be towed within 20 miles of leaving his shop.5. I also thought it was very unethical for [redacted] to follow my car to the next mechanic and try to convince him of what should be done. Especially when he tried to convince him that the situation called for a total engine rebuild and that [redacted] should subcontract [redacted] to perform it. ESPECIALLY since [redacted] was saying all along that "electrical gremlins" were the problem. No engine rebuild would take care of electrical gremlins. Of course, [redacted] electrical gremlins were the new, but faulty condenser, (See attached letter from [redacted] motors concerning condensers), him not tightening the battery cables, and reversing the coil wires.6. Just as a real mechanic should possess certain mechanical skills, a business owner must provide fairly accurate estimates of costs, send out bills in a timely manner and take phone calls to explain bills that are four times the expected amount. He should also take calls when repairs didn't go as expected and the customer needs to bring his car back in. Several times [redacted] claimed to be out of town and I found him at his shop.7. So my opinion is that I owe [redacted] about $500 and that he should pay half of my unnecessary repairs to [redacted] for fixing [redacted] mistakes. That is $2500. I think I am being generous here, since I would probably never in my lifetime need to make those repairs, but I do know I have a better car because of it and therefore not asking for the full amount. [redacted] is holding about $1000 of parts off my car. He says he is not keeping them hostage, but he also has not returned them. I am open to listening to any other solutions [redacted] may have but he has never even taken a phone call to discuss it.8. I am 60 years old and I have never not paid a bill or been a party in a civil suit, but I got to say that this ordeal with [redacted] was like being in the " Twilight Zone." I reserve the right to publish my experiences on any Social Media, MG blog, or in direct emails to MG club members. I do understand my obligation for being truthful. Sincerely, [redacted]

I am happy to keep the doors open in this process, but *** is being only slightly more communicative than before you entered the picture, when he was not returning my phone calls. In our recent private emails he just says that we could have worked this all out without getting a third party involved. I am maintaining that that would have been impossible when he wouldn't return my calls. He would just send me another bill. Terry E

This is a response to Mr*** complaint submitted on 1/07/to the Revdex.com. Up to this time *** *** has been referring to an invoice from ***’s automotive in the amount of $5,that he has yet to produce. I do not know if the amounts that *** *** has been referring to are correct or what amounts can be attached to specific work that was done to Mr*** car by the second mechanic. If *** *** wants to resolve this matter in a timely fashion, he must provide the information that he is using for his positionAfter this information has been supplied, MG Services will review it and prepare to present its case before a Revdex.com arbitrator.I do not believe that a settlement can be achieved with discussions just between the two partiesIf there is going to be a third party involved, let both sides present their case and let the third party construct a settlement. The mediation path will take time but will not necessarily produce any results in this particular case.If that turns out to be the case, additional time will have been spent pursuing a non-result.Enough time has already been spent. If *** *** believes that his position will prevail, why won't he produce his proof, present his case, and let a third party arbitrator decide whose position is valid? I therefore believe that arbitration is this is the only way this matter can be brought to a conclusion, in a timely fashion. The Revdex.com path is the path that *** *** instigatedLet the settlement be heard and decided there. If this cannot be agreed to then MG Services will be left to investigate other avenues of bringing this matter to a conclusion as stated in its original response. These other avenues will incur additional expenses for each partyThere is no need for these expensesLet’s conclude this at the Revdex.com. *** *** MG Services

This is a response to Mr*** complaint submitted on 11/19/to the Revdex.com. Complaint # *** There was quite a bit of work completed on Mr*** car with parts supplied by MG ServicesThere was approx$worth of parts and
$1,of labor put into those repairsThese costs can be found within the text of the invoice that *** *** received on or about September 9, These repairs are clearly documented with descriptions and photos in the first pages of the final report supplied to *** *** on May 20th The remainder of the work is documented on the pages 16, 17, 18, and in the final report was completed between May 20th and when *** *** removed the car from my shop to go to his family meetingThe conclusion on page of the final report was written after I discovered what had happened to the car after it left my shop *** *** has not made any accusations that MG Services has charged him any work not completedNor has *** *** made any accusations that the parts listed were not installed on his car. Therefore the total invoice from MG Services accurate, valid, and overdue Not everything on the car was repaired because it was not brought back to my shop following Mr*** family visitI still have Mr*** air cleaner canister and plenum at the shopI am not holding them for ransomThey will be included as a part of the final settlement *** *** needs to specifically identify any and all places where he posted any comments about MG Services on the InternetA hard copy of these comments also needs to be supplied to MG Services *** *** needs to send and have posted a neutral letter to all sites stating that he has reached an equitable settlement with MG Services *** *** never states that *** had to redo any repair that was done at MG ServicesIt is my understanding that *** also tried to track down the intermittent missIt took him a significant amount of time to track it down However, additional work was done at *** shopThese repairs were brought about from other issues that manifested themselves after the car was taken from MG ServicesThe carburetor rebuild, electronic ignition, replacing core plugs, head work /valve job, and possibly other work are just some of the things that were done at *** shopNone of things were within the scope of the work specified to be done while the car was at MG Services*** invoice reflects what *** *** and *** discussed and agreed to do and had nothing to do with MG Services I had no control over what or how anything was done to the car after it left my shop so I am not responsible for what *** did or what he was told to do to the carI am not responsible nor will I subsidize Mr*** bill from *** Automotive Based on all of the information presented to the Revdex.com and the summery above, it is the position of MG Services that *** *** is responsible for the cost of all parts and labor (1,974.05) for the work that he authorized on or about April 12, which was prior to any work being started Payment, in full, must be made by the end of business on December 30, If either cash, certified check, or postal money order is not received by MG Services by that date, then MG Services will pursue any and all other avenues to collect this bill. [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]I will dig out my paid receipts to *** over the weekend. Does this mean that *** is willing to pay half of the unnecessary repairs or is this another stall tactic?I did have, here at my office something that is even more interesting concerning *** honesty and how he treats customers that he deems to be stupid people with money. Attached is the joint estimate from *** (the second mechanic) after *** followed my car to *** shop. *** persuaded *** to try to get me to go along with a total engine rebuild. This was to be around $plus anything that came along unexpected.*** was to subcontract out to *** the actual engine rebuild for $5000. That needed $up front, because *** was needing the money. So here are the issues: 1. *** said several times that my car had" electrical gremlins". Always using that phrase. No engine rebuild would correct a defective $condenser. The "electrical gremlins" were caused because *** could not detect a defective condenser. He reversed the wires going out of the coil and he never tightened the battery cables? *** Motors told me that everybody knows about today's condenser issues or at least should know about them. I am sure that *** does know about the need to tighten battery cables and proper polarity of coil wires. But what I am saying is that whether these errors were intentional or not *** really tried to capitalize on the opportunity that was created by his own mistakes. This was to the point of following my car and stalking the second mechanic. 2. When the car was still in *** shop, several times my wife or I asked him how much the work was going to cost or after he had begun we asked him how much so far. He always answered, that he hadn't figured it. Don't worry about it. Hardly anything. He never gave a written or oral estimate or would even tell his hourly rate. 3. *** This is the real sign about the dishonesty or maybe just extreme bad judgment...........*** correctly diagnosed my car as having "electrical gremlins", even though he is the one that caused them. SO HERE IS WHAT I REALLY WANT *** TO ANSWER: The car ran wonderfully well at times. How could he have suggested a total engine rebuild??? This is what had other MG mechanics in disbelief when I consulted them.***I really want an answer to his before we go any further. I know that *** knows these cars. Were these mistakes really bad judgment or *** needing the money? 4. I certainly never got a call from *** saying "we are at $and I am really stumped. Should I continue?"

*** ***

I feel I have made more than a reasonable effort to find a resolution and that [redacted] made zero effort.  Why would I want to go further?  He wouldn't even attempt to explain why he made so many mechanical and business mistakes. Thank you for everything, [redacted]

Dear [redacted]   This is a response to Mr. [redacted] complaint submitted on 11/19/2015 to the Revdex.com.  Complaint  #   [redacted]             This is the response to the reply from [redacted] dated 12-29-15. His response requests a reduction of the MG Services invoice from $1,974.00 to $500.00; in addition, [redacted] wants MG Services to pay one half of [redacted]’s Automotive invoice for work done to Mr. [redacted] car; and finally, [redacted] wants his parts returned to him.             Up to this time [redacted] has been referring to an invoice from [redacted]’s automotive in the amount of $5,500.00 that he has yet to produce.  I do not know if the amounts that [redacted] has been referring to are correct or what amounts can be associated to which specific work that was done to Mr. [redacted] car.             [redacted] has continued to make a great deal of unsubstantiated allegations without any documentation. Until such time that these documents are produced and reviewed by MG Services, MG Services cannot, nor will not, make any accommodations.                                                 [redacted] MG Services
