I've lived in my Stella, NC home for the past years with my familyUnbeknownst to myself or my wife, the electrical meter outside the home was malfunctioning and recording less power than what was usedI've paid all my electrical billsJanuary a representative of the power company replaced the existing meter for a digital upgraded modelThat is when the faulty original meter was discoveredThe power company then estimated our back power usage and told us that we now owed them over $I feel taken advantage ofI'm disabled/retired Marine and living off of a fixed incomeI have tried to discuss this with several lawyers in my area and no one has gotten back to me with any information regarding this issueI have not payed the back balance since the bill adjustment, for fear of admitting some sort of fault, but I have paid my current usage every monthI'm now being told that unless the adjusted bill is payed in full that my electricity will be turned off
