Frank Weber Insurance Agent Reviews (1)

Review: Upon damage being done to my 2013 Subaru Legacy while I was out of town I immediately contacted my insurance agent Frank Weber's office. I described the damage to [redacted] who answered the phone. I asked if this was covered under comprehensive and she said "yes." She transferred me to claims. It was only upon taking my car to [redacted]'s auto body shop that I was informed that there was not only one but two $250 deductibles. Upon picking up my car Todd (the select service shop representative) informed me that it was highly unusually how [redacted] (the [redacted] adjuster) had called him stating that even though Todd felt it should be covered under one claim that the agent felt I was going to cancel coverage and wanted to charge me the two deductibles. Mr. Weber's office misrepresented my coverage when I called and refused to make this right by honoring what I was told, but instead passed the buck to blame others for his office's error.Desired Settlement: I believe that Frank Weber's office was dishonest in their handling of my claim and provided no advocacy nor integrity in standing behind what they advised me. Had they told me the trust up front I would have never filed the claim but instead they did nothing to make it right. I believe they should cover the $500 deductible that I owed because of their office.

Revdex.com ID 10691333 Business Response to Customer Review: [redacted] was insured with my office for a number of years. He called my office because he had damage on the front right side of the vehicle and the left side that looked like a car “might have hit it” while it was parked. He characterized the damage on the left side as a “scratch.” He put two claims in. One claim for the front right side of the vehicle, which he knew would be considered a “Collision coverage” claim, for which he had a $250 deductible. He put in the second claim for the “scratch” on the left side of the vehicle because he believed that it would be covered under “Comprehensive coverage” for which he had no deductible . Upon inspection, the local claims representative told him that there would be an additional deductible for the damage on the left side as it was collision also. AFTER hearing that, [redacted] then came to my office incensed that he would owe the second $250 deductible because my office staff member allegedly told him that the “scratch” on the left side would be covered under “Comprehensive coverage.” Note that my experienced staff person doesn’t recall the exact conversation as it’s been a month ago, but she did say that she WOULD NOT have committed to “comprehensive coverage” if he had told her that a car “might have hit it” per his complaint to the department of insurance. She however doesn’t dispute that she may have suggested that he turn in the second claim as my company has a policy of “submit, don’t commit.” I then inspected the vehicle myself, and discovered that the “scratch” was actually a large scrape approximately 3 inches by 4 feet long—clearly “Collision” damage with the $250 deductible (unlike a scratch made when a car is keyed), and I concurred with the claims representative’s EARLIER determination. [redacted] alleges that I convinced my insurance company to charge him two deductibles because he told me that he was leaving the company. This is false, because I only found out about the claim, AFTER the claims representative notified him that two $250 deductibles would be charged, NOT BEFORE. Note that an agent has NO POWER to change a claims department decision. Additionally, I have spoken to the body shop man who thought that only one deductible would apply was based solely on info that [redacted]had provided him. To summarize, I do not think that [redacted] intentionally misrepresented the damage to the left side of his car when he called my office, but the damage was clearly, and significantly more severe than just a “scratch.” I sincerely believe that almost all people would agree. At the time that I inspected the car, he stated that it wasn’t the money, but that it was the “principal” of the thing. I am surprised to see that he now wants the entire $500 to be paid. Please note that based on a large survey by San Diego Magazine, I was selected as a 5 Star Home/Auto Insurance Professional for 2015. Less than 1 per cent of insurance professionals in the area earn this designation.
