Review: I am currently restoring a 1964 Lincoln Continental and chose Frankford Plating to re-chrome my bumpers. I dropped my bumpers off on 11/27/12 with a $500 deposit and was told they would be done in 4-6 weeks, which was also written on my invoice. After numerous phone calls, in which I was given every excuse from machinery problems to staffing issues, I wasn't able to pick my bumpers up until 4/13/13. During that time I missed 2 paid events that my vehicle was supposed to appear in. Additionally, the quality of the work is sub-par and I have come to the conclusion that the bumpers were most likely sent out to be done by another company.

This has been one of the worst business transactions I have ever been involved in. [redacted], who I presume is the owner, never once offered an apology or reduction in price. Every time I called after a missed promised deadline he blamed the person who was doing the actual work on the bumpers and acted like he had no idea what was going on. When I finally demanded to speak with the person who was supposedly doing the work to get some answers I was put on with [redacted] and told to come get them by the end of the week. When I arrived [redacted] wasn't there and I had a check to pay the remaining balance ($1500). I was told they do not accept personal checks for final payment even though that's what I used for my deposit. They also do not accept credit cards. The employee called [redacted] and he explained to me that was their policy (no apology) and he assumed [redacted] told me that when we spoke, although [redacted] said he doesn't deal with payments or any type of pricing and I had to speak to [redacted] about that. After leaving and returning with $1500 cash I was able to get my bumpers.

This was such a horrible experience and what made it worse was that they had my items (which are not easily replaceable) and I could do nothing about it. I was completely at their mercy and could do nothing about it for fear that I wouldn't get my bumpers back.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for the length of time they had my bumpers and the quality (or lack of) work that I received. I also would like a phone call with an explanation and apology.

Review: I contracted this company in August of 2013 to rechrome parts off of my 1974 [redacted].I was told it would be done in two weeks which was misleading.The owner contacted me 3 months later to let me know the stuff was ready for pick up.That same weekend I drove philly to pick the stuff up to my dismay there where two pieces that needed to be redone due to the poor quality at which time I also dropped some parts off for a friends 1972 [redacted].I was then contacted two months later from the owner saying everything was ready for pick up including my two redue parts.I drove back to philly again that weekend several of the parts hadn't been touched and my friends front grill was destroyed.I was promised in writing it would be replaced and chromed by the company and I would recieve it no later then December of 2013.I have contacted them numerous times about the parts and situation.I have finally received my two parts which one was which one they did nothing to and the other was spray paint chrome which is not what I paid for.I could've spray painted it myself if that's the quality of craftsmanship I was looking for.My friends grill has never been replaced and we payed for top notch work and received nothing more then low quality work and the run around about our stuff.I hope that no one else uses this company and find it amazing that they are able to stay in business with such lack of respect for customers products and wishes.Desired Settlement: I would like them to pay for my friends grill in which he trusted me to get it rechromed as well as a partial refund for services not preformed.
