I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However the check was sent after the email was sent therefore my first response was accurate. They had not sent me a check when they said they did, it was after the fact.

Regards,
[redacted]

[redacted] has previously be mailed the full refund he requested.  Thus, his issue is resolved.

Review: I was contacted by this company, Franklin Debt Solutions (FDS) to help negotiate a debt I had. I paid $175.00 for their services. A week later when I had not heard from them, I contacted the original debtor. I was told that there had been no attempts made to negotiate on my behalf AND the debt that was owed was HALF of what FDS was trying to collect. I was able to work out my own negotiation with the original company. I then contacted FDS and requested a refund as they had done nothing on my behalf. I was told to submit my request in writing, which I did. I called to follow up on the refund and was told it could take several weeks to refund my money as it needed to be reviewed. I told them that would not work for me, I had paid for services that were not given to me and I needed a full refund. The man on the other end of the phone went on and on about the review team and how he has no control over them. I asked to speak with a manager and or members of the review team. I was denied. I simply want my money back. These people are scammers and I truly don't know how they sleep at night.Desired Settlement: $175 refund

Review: I sent $175 to Franklin Debt to help me settle a debt matter but have never received a call from them. I always have to call them and they told me that they had been trying to call the attorney who the creditor had hired but always leave messages and do not get a response. I decided to call the attorney directly and learned that no one from Franklin had ever called them. The law firm even said that they don't do business with Franklin and that they know of other people who were scammed by them. They are not even trying to work out a debt and therefore their advertising is deceptive and they are fraudulent. I actually settled the debt myself dirextly with the law firm. They literally and overtly stole my money.Desired Settlement: $175 refund

Dear [redacted];

We are responding to your communication regarding the above referenced matter.

While a settlement was completed for [redacted] after review we have refunded his payment of $175.

Thank you for your assistance,

Review: Call Franklin debt solution and spoke to representative [redacted] about setting debt with [redacted] in the amount of $533.36 on April 27th 2013. I gave franklin debt authorization to debt $150 from my account which is the amount they charge for setting the debt on May 02 2013. [redacted] informed me that they will try to reduce the debt to the amount of $300. Trial Date was on May 3, 2013. I did not show up for court because I had already spoken with Franklin debt solution and believed they will settle the debt out of court. Since then I have a judgment against me and my wages are being garnished. I contacted the Law office of [redacted]. [redacted], Chartered Attorney for [redacted] about this matter. They informed me that they did hear from Franklin Debt Solution about settling my debt with them. I contacted Franklin Debt Solutions, Inc. and asked for a refund which they replied they do not have a refund policy. They did absolutely nothing for me and did told me that I should have contacted them sooner and that there's nothing they can do to help me. I do not understand why this company thinks they should not refund my money when they did nothing.Desired Settlement: Full refund

Review: I reached out to Franklin Debt Solutions, Inc on 10/8/13 (one day before my court date) and confirmed that once I made a payment of $300, a settlement arrangement would be made and no garnishments would take place. I Spoke to [redacted] at FDS, Inc several times on this day and she confirmed this for me and a payment was made.

I rec’d a brochure from the company about a week later asking for my name, employer and bank info and my SSN. I returned the brochure with the requested info immediately even though I was told NOT to return it and that it was no big deal.

I rec’d a letter either 10/19 or 10/20 saying that they previously sent me a form and had not rec’d it. I called and spoke to [redacted], who emailed a copy of the form that I had already mailed in. I completed the info again and emailed it back to her the same day and mailed it again.

Around the first week in November, I rec’d a letter from FDS, Inc dated 11/5/13 that read:

“At your request, Franklin Debt Solutions, Inc. has negotiated a settlement agreement with your creditor [redacted]. This agreement was reached after extensive written and/or telephone communication and negotiations. Your Creditor, [redacted], has agreed to settle its claim against you for a total of $4, 839.36, plus interest and legal fees, if any. The total amount is to be paid in monthly installments of $200, as set forth in the enclosed agreement. Your first payment is due on 11/15/13, and every month thereafter, until the total amount is paid in full.”

A few days later, I rec’d another letter but from the District Court saying that my wages were being garnished. This was very confusing to me - how can they agree to the settlement as FDS, Inc just informed me and still garnish my wages?

I called FDS, Inc and spoke to someone by the name of [redacted] or [redacted] and he was so rude and disrespectful. He literally told me, “You were just unlucky.” He even told me I was not getting my money back before I even brought it up. He told me that I was too late and that I should not have waited until the day before my court date to try to do a settlement. He could not explain to me how I paid them to stop any garnishment proceedings and arrange a settlement and they did neither. On 10/8/13, they knew my court date was the next day. I asked [redacted] if it was too late and she told me it was not and accepted my payment.

I contacted the attorney’s representing the company suing me and they informed me that they don’t know who I am or what I was talking about it. They had not rec’d any information from FDS, Inc nor did they approve any settlement offer for $200 a month.

To date, me and my husbands wages are being garnished.Desired Settlement: A FULL refund.
