on june 2nd my wife and I traveled an hour and a half to look at a car that was not identify bryer to a conversation with a salesmen that praised the to be like new.so we went there and met up with another salesmen that showed us that car but we didnt like so he showed us another and we liked it,so we started to do credit check, but in bryer to all that we told that we want to deal with capital one bank because we had an approval from them and even asked over the phone before we went there they said yes they do.when we came back in to start we also told the salesmen the same thing about using capital one to get the loan because we had an approval for a certain amount of money he said no problem that will work.so we are sitting there for a while he comes back to us and we cant take capital one so we started to get upset and he went back and forth with the sales manager and then with the finance manager so we are still sitting there waiting nothing being offered to us like water or anything else like everybody was getting water or coffee.then they all came to us and said this dealer doesnt deal with capital one we would have to go to there other dealer next door because they do.so we said ok lets go because we didnt want to leave there empty handed.while waiting there at the other at the new dealer he comes to us and says that capital one said that we can not buy this car because it sat on there lot for more than seventy days and they will not give us the finance that car me and my wife looked at each other we could not believe what we were hearing because it sat there that long.then he said can he go shop for a car that would be a car that capital one would finance we said ok.he didnt even take five minutes and he was back with a picture of a car that was nothing like the one we want.we looked at him and said this is it he said yes this car capital one will finance we told him no thanks and he this is it or nothing so we told he we will take nothing but me and my wife thought that he was going to try to find another car but he didnt and just looked at us and said ok then we are done then good luck.so we left went down the road and pulled over and called capital one to asked them the real reason for not giving us that car the girl at capital one said there was no credit application summited by any one from fred bean dealer ship or any equire about a car for us and we also asked them is there any thing wrong with a car that sat on the lot for more than seventy days.they said no there is no rule for a car sitting on anybody lot then we explained to the girl at capital one what happened to us she said she was going to call them and asked whats going on and this was going to be reported to another department.so my wife and I was faustrated traveling an hour and a half for us to hear lies and not to mention eating or drinking anything for about five hours there and they didnt even try to use the bank that we told them over and over to use.

Review: went to fred beans of limerick pa, 40 autopark blvd. may, 4, 2013. talked with a [redacted] and found a 2013 camaro(online) at another dealership that we wanted to purchase. he quoted a price, I agreed to it and gave him my $500 earnest money toward the purchase of the 2013 camaro.

he gets back to me later in the week and tells me the car isn't available, but he found another more expensive model at a higher payment price. all he had to do was call the dealership and make sure the car I agreed to purchase was available-BEFORE he cashed my earnest money check. when I told him I didn't want the car he suggested or the price- I wanted our original deal, he told me he'd mail back my earnest money check...though it would take a minimum of 10 days to clear their bank and then corporate headquarters would finally write me another check for $500 and mail it to me whenever. I still do not have the $500 earnest money they owe me for presenting one car and then switching it to a more expensive model when the car we agreed to was 'unavailable. I don't believe he had any intention of selling me the car I agreed to, I think the dealership knew it wasn't available but thought they could snow me into buying a more expensive car at a higher price. that is bait and switch and should be illegal.Desired Settlement: an immediate refund of my $500 and some type of restitution for illegal business practices. I don't want to buy from them, ever, so I wouldn't want any rebate. restitution could be either in the form of a check or merchandise such as car mats or seat covers. I would want it on record that fred beans practices bait and switch so other customers can read their Revdex.com file and be forewarned. thank you.

We did not advertise this car. The car we were trying to out of another dealers inventory was not available. On all our paprework we clearly stated locate car. The check the customer left us was a personal check. We will refund the customers check promptly.

I am rejecting this response because: again, all it would have taken was a phone call to the dealership to verify they had the specific camaro and it was available. had they done that and found out it was not available there would have been no need to accept and cash my personal check. stating the paperwork says 'locate car' is an evasion of the issue. they knew the car was not available and took my money anyway to try and coerce me into buying a more expensive model at higher payments. they should be forced to pay restitution in addition to immediately refunding my $500 earnest money check. I would like my comments posted publicly so other buyers can educate themselves about the way fred beans conducts their business.
