Review: In September 2011, my wife and I purchased a 2003 Subaru Forester VIN# [redacted] from Fred Beans. The mileage was very low and when asked we were told it was low because of an older owner who did not drive much. We had to wait an additional week for the car because they needed to make some "minor repairs" is what they told us. A week later we purchased the car, within a week, we called back to discuss the sun roof and how it opens in internals and were told that this was a part of the model. We then took it to [redacted] Subaru to ask the same question and they told us that this was not a part of the model and that we needed to repair it. Two months later the check engine light went on and we took the car to [redacted] Subaru and they told us the sparks plug were damaged because there was a leak in the radiator which caused our checked engine light to appear. A week later the light went on again and we contacted them and complained about the engine light, they suggested that the dealership might have cut the light and sold us the car but after you drive it, it comes back on sooner or later. We limited driving use to my job which is 10 minutes away and never took the car beyond work, now a year and a half later we took it to a repair shop and they confirmed that the engine was bad and that was why the mileage was low, it had nothing to do with a older person driving it. The engine was no good. This car is paid in full and the dealership misrepresented the car and report, they knew the engine was bad and had seen the engine light but I believe sold this defective car to me.Desired Settlement: We either want a repair or replacement, this was a defective car from the beginning and the fact that we are getting bounced around when we call and have left voicemail messages tells us that we are being avoided. A year and a half and the car is no good even with limited use and several repairs.

Read the Revdex.com complaint and we called the customer and reminded them the car was certified and that the vehicle came came with a warranty that would probably cover the engine. We asked them to stop in so we could diagnose and verify the issue. We did determine an engine replacement was the best course of action and the vehicle is in our shop now getting repaired. The customer appears happy. Our records do not indecate that they had ever been back to the dealer ship since taking delivery in September of 2011 or had lodged a complaint with any one here ever. Our CRM systems does indecate we have sent the Happy birthday Emails on 4/30/2012 and 5/1/2013.
