Very professional, on time and fair pricing , I have used them multiple times for large and small jobs , they dont quit at 4:30 or 5 pm like most , they stayed until the job was done , so I would not be without facilities or water .

I would highly recommend them for all your plumbing needs .

Used this company to install kitchen faucet. One plumber. Completed job. Called again to have bathroom faucet installed. They sent TWO guys - the same plumber plus a 'helper'! The 'helper' handed the plumber a tool and held the sink as he loosened a bolt. Otherwise he did nothing. After completing the work, he charged me 76% MORE than the previous installation!! Bryan (owner?) claimed it required 2 men for the job. I know that installing a faucet is NOT a 2-man job, as evidenced by the first ONE-MAN installation - which took the exact same amount of time to complete!!

Overpriced. Attempts to justify higher price for "helper" which was not agreed to.

Supposed to find toilet leak. Did not put washer back on supply linecaused more sheetrock damage than before they came.
Had scheduled repair call on Jan 5 with *** Plumbing to (1) install new faucet/hook up dishwasher/garbage disposal and also (2) repair toilet leak that had leaked into 2nd floor ceiling (it was discovered on Jan 1 and water had been turned off to stop further damage; and I have a photo from that date to show the damage at that point. During the service call, toilet was removed, debris was in the toilet line and toilet was replaced. I was out there on Jan 12 to have sheetrock repaired, and discovered that this same toilet had leaked a LOT more into the downstairs overhead sheetrock in the closet and in a bathroom down there. Upon investigation by Mr. supply line did not have a washer on it. The supply line is metal and was not leaking itself (I do have this supply line). Mr. took a picture of the supply line when he disconnected it to show there was no washer there (I have this photo). I also had another professional handyman there: *** who observed this entire incident. I called and left msg for *** plumbing; they called back and were going to send someone out. I had to go to home depot to buy a dehumidifier for the downstairs and told both professional handyman contractors to talk to the plumber if he happened to come while I was away (which he did). They both spoke to the plumber "***" and both strongly felt certain that the new leak and damage was 100% due to not having the washer on the supply line, which would have been disconnected during their service call on Jan 5. Plumber "***" disputed and left before I returned. I called plumbing office again, and left message saying I only expected them to repair the damage they caused and that they did cause much of the sheetrock damage. Plumber "***" left me a voice mail saying it wasn't their fault. I still have this voice mail. I visited their website and used their "contact us" option to send them something in writing again asking for them to repair their damage. I asked for a response in writing. I took screenshots of this communication with my cell phone before sending. This was all on Friday Jan 12. I did not get a response via email, call, nothing. Their initial service call was $148. The previous sheetrock damage was going to be between $300-$500 to repair. I have now paid $500 for the wet sheetrock to be removed and am looking at spending another $1000 to have it repaired and painted. I also had to spend $290 on a dehumidifier that date. Their service call on 1-5-18 was $148.43 and paid with check #1064 on that same date. Their service ticket states "reinstall toilet in hall bath." It was not reinstalled correctly. The supply line was not faulty; the line did not have a leak; it needed a washer (it's just like using a garden hose at homeyou need a washer to avoid leaks). If you are being paid to repair a leaky toiletany/all items related to the toilet should be checked/inspected/repairs recommended if needed. That was NOT done.

Desired Outcome

I am trying to be completely fair about this. I do not expect *** Plumbing to pay for the damage that was already there. So that is $500 that I do not expect back from him. The $290 for the dehumidifierthat is an expense that I can absorb just again in the interest of being fair. The $148 service call I did get other work done that date-so I don't expect that to be returned. However, I do expect them to cover the additional amount of sheetrock damage and it's replacement, texturing the ceiling sheetrock and painting it. Mr. said it would be at least $1000. I can only assume that *** Plumbing has insurance for their work and if they want to use the insurance, that is fine; or if they want to reimburse me for the workthat is fine. But I expect reimbursement from them in some form in the amount of $1000

Fred Weston Plumbing Response • Jan 22, 2018

In receipt of your email, I will gladly respond in writing to be perfectly clear.

When Micheal came to perform your service call of checking your commode for a leak, he found it to have a bad wax seal and replaced it. The old wax seal had chunks of wood, saw dust and maybe grout pieces? He noted gravel but it makes more sense that it would have been grout from the tile that appeared to be gravel. Nevertheless, he was sure to check for leaks in every area you asked him to and especially the commode that he pulled and reinstalled.

When I arrived at your home to ascertain the damage and obtain information regarding the matter of fault, I spoke with your "Handyman" and was informed of the situation in detail. He claimed that the "bottom" area of the supply line that meets the stop/valve had a "rapid drip". I asked if the supply line was loose and he stated that "no...it was tight". Then... in error... the "handyman" said there was a rubber gasket missing from the area that attached to the valve... I corrected him and told him that there is in fact only a feral for a compression fit at that point of connection.

The supply line was only reused for your commode because it was not leaking. We carry new supply lines on our truck in quantity for sale. Your supply line appeared to be in good shape and was not leaking...therefore it was not replaced at your needless expense. He did make sure that there were no leaks prior to leaving your home and it is noted on the invoice you signed and paid for that day.

We have a process that we follow on every job. It is protocol. In order to be sure that there are no leaks, we check everything with either toilet paper, paper napkin or paper towel as they are all very absorbent and tell us right away wether there is moisture present or not. If there would have been moisture of any kind there, much more so a "rapid drip", we would have informed you of the problem and sold you whatever was needed to fix the problem and PREVENT any damage.

As I stated on your phone answering service, had there been a rapid drip at the time of the service call, not only would we have seen it and prevented the damage from happening but your damage would have been much more severe over the course of 6 days. It appears to me by the amount of water present, upon my visit to your home on January 11th, 2018, it may have been leaking for 2 possibly 3 days.

I also stated that "leaks happen" and they do. It is always unfortunate that these things happen. The majority of our business is finding and repairing leaks as they occur, sometimes even in newer homes.... but most always at the fault of no person or deed, pipes just begin to leak...sometimes slowly... other times very quickly causing lots of damage.

So to say that Micheal is at fault because he was the last person to touch the commode in question is not fair nor accurate at all. However, that being stated, I can certainly see your concern regarding the situation prior to being educated by our correspondence.

Fred Weston plumbing has a record in our community of being an outstanding plumbing service provider. Since 1976, we have served and prevented further damage to homes of all sizes and price ranges. Our goal is to always be there when you need us. We would never intentionally leave a situation that could result in damage to your home, office or property.

I would ask that you remove the unwarranted negative comments from Facebook and let the Revdex.com know that you had been ill advised by your handyman.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

Kind regards,
***

Customer Response • Jan 23, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Fred Weston Plumbing came out to my home to repair a small leak with some sheetrock damage downstairs. Water had been turned off to that toilet in the interimto prevent any further damage. After the service call, I incurred further sheetrock damage due to a continued leak from this toilet. I can only compare this to taking a car in for an oil change, and assuming everything was taken care of then then your engine blowing up because the oil cap wasn't put back on. The toilet wasn't used after the service call. The supply line itself does not have a leak and I do still have the supply line. So the leak HAD to come from faulty re-installation. The line didn't "go bad." The toilet tank isn't cracked, it didn't leak. The leak was from how the supply line was reattached. I'm not a plumber-so I may not know the correct term, but it's the installation that was faulty. I will not remove my online reviews, as this is still my opinion. I did see that one of your reviews says you did refund them $30 after a unhappy customer experience, so I am not the first. The handyman that was at my home when *** came out was from *** and they have even used Fred Weston plumbing for assistance in the past, so it is not personal. I received poor service that caused damage to my home and I expect those damages to be covered by the company or their insurance. I do not accept the response from Fred Weston Plumbing. It's shifting the blame to the customer. I want to continue this complaint in whatever manner is needed. Please advise.
