Hi I live in N VA and I travel to PA weekly for the past 20 years. So I have a PA easy pass which predates VA by many years. When I travel through NY, NJ, MD, PA,OH and my transponder does not get picked up, each of those states goes to an Ezpass database looks up my licence plate, and sees that I DO HAVE an Ezpass. and charges my account. Why does VA not follow this same process? Is it cheaper from EZpass to not use this database? Is it a source of revenue to collect an additional $12.50 for people unknowingly, or not wanting to go through all of the gyrations VA requires to confirm active ezpass membership and just pay it? The statement that always comes with these dispute resolutions reads "We regret any inconvenience this may have caused you" . Really?
