Dear Ms [redacted] , Thank you for raising your concern about your experience trying to successfully book accommodations with Frederick William House through [redacted] / [redacted] I would love to be able to honor a refund, but unfortunately you did not follow [redacted] , [redacted] 's or my own cancellation/booking procedure clearly stated to you when booking on-line through the [redacted] and [redacted] platformsThe landscape of on-line reservations has greatly changed this year since the [redacted] purchase of [redacted] , [redacted] and ***On line cancellations have become much more strict and are similar to big box hotel proceduresBecause you tried to cancel less than hours prior to check in, you were not granted a refundMoreover, your reservation was made through a third party...meaning at the time you requested a refund, [redacted] had not even allocated your reservation funds to usI am truely sorry for your husband's illnessI am a Cancer survivor myself and am all too familiar with it's horrific battleI wish you both the best outcome and please be aware of these new on-line booking procedures when booking any boutique accommodation through the big on line outlets such as [redacted] and [redacted]

I made a reservation at this location for my husband and I to have a quiet weekend before he is to embark on intensive medical procedures Unfortunately we learned on Thursday, the day before check in, that he is not able to travel to the cape, one of our favorite placesI contacted the innkeeper to see if a refund or credit could be attained She said it was up to The booking agent, ***I contacted the agent and they said it was up to the innkeeper I called back *** who was, for lack of a better term, cruelShe said that I should not throw "cancer" in her face and asked why I would book it if my husband was ill
I told her that I would just have my daughter come (responsible adult)She told me I couldn'tSo not only could I not stay in the room, but I couldn't have someone else use it eitherAnd they kept all of my $
Stay awayA person like this does not deserve to be in business

On line cancellations have become much more strict and are similar to big box hotel procedures. Because you tried to cancel less than 24 hours prior to check in, you were not granted a refund. Moreover, your reservation was made through a third party...meaning at the time you requested a refund, [redacted] had not even allocated your reservation funds to us. I am truely sorry for your husband's illness. I am a Cancer survivor myself and am all too familiar with it's horrific battle. I wish you both the best outcome and please be aware of these new on-line booking procedures when booking any boutique accommodation through the big on line outlets such as [redacted] and [redacted].
