Revdex.com:
There was no offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and I have determined that this business owner, *** ***, has no interest in resolving my complaint or providing any customer service.
I have provided you with extensive details regarding this case. I did not verbally abuse any employees at the *** *** *** or the *** *** but I admit I was upset by the manner in which the employees treated meWho wouldn't be upset if a business attempted to charge them $for an $product or failed to return a $deposit? On the contrary, the business owner apparently feels that it is acceptable for HIM to mislead or mistreat people and misrepresent his business servicesYes, the *** *** *** continues to advertise free estimates on its website
I expected to have my clock repaired and this business was unable to do itI have no desire to continue communications with this business on this matter
Regards,
*** ***

Dear Sir/Madam,
background: transparent;">                               Regarding above complaint, customer brought in small clock for repair. She was told by our staff that we charge a $25.00 fee to give an estimate, whether the work was performed or not. This fee partially covers our time in dismantling the clock, detecting problems and giving an estimate, or for looking up movement numbers and searching for replacement parts. She was also told that if she went ahead and had the work done, the $25.00 would be deducted from the estimate. Common practice in most repair shops. She left the shop with a receipt clearly marked $25.00 paid for estimate. After the clock had been looked at, the customer was contacted and told that the movement could not be fixed (it is a sealed plastic unit) but we could find a replacement. She was also told that she had an odd size opening in the case and that the original dial and movement (one piece) was not available, so the replacement would not look the same. The customer said that was okay as it was special to her and she wanted it fixed. She also agreed to the $65.00 quote. After the work was completed the customer did not like the replacement movement and accused us of fixing her old movement and glueing a cheap replacement dial over it. She was told that we would give her money back and her old movement which we put back in the case for her. She was not charged the $40.00 additional dollars and was given back her clock. She became verbally abusive to our staff when she was told that she could not get the $25.00 back and was also abusive to our sister shop staff down the street who are not involved with the clock shop at all. As for her other fictitious claim about us changing our website I just ask you to call the company who deal with our website and ask them yourselves if any changes have been recently made. The site hasn't been changed in months. Our web site company is "the design fountain" [redacted]

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Review: This store supposedly specializes in clock repair so I took a small desk clock there to have it repaired on August 2, 2014. The sales clerk wrote on a receipt "estimate to fix" $25.00. It was my understanding that this deposit would be applied to the cost of the repair. The repair work could not be performed to my satisfaction and the clock was returned to me. The salesperson refused to return my deposit to me when I went to pick up my clock on August 29th. [redacted] website stated "estimates were free" when I checked it, as late as yesterday evening. I pointed this out to the owner of the store yesterday in an email. Here's the URL [redacted] . Ironically, the site has been updated as of this morning and the free estimate reference was removed. I searched the site and saw that revodavid.com was hired to update this site as of 8/13/14.

Most retail businesses clearly state in writing that estimates are free, no refunds, returns or exchanges on purchases, etc., on signs posted within their establishments and/or on customer receipts.Desired Settlement: I would like a $25.00 cash refund from the store owner.
