Review: We took two vehicles in for oil changes. They charged for the one vehicle $2.27 and the other was $7.56. [redacted] the manager explained that this was for "rags and for "topping off fluids". The one vehicle was done and the fluids were not topped off. We complained about it. The second vehicle was also NOT topped off. This is despicable to pay for a service that was never performed. The fact that really ticked me was that we already complained about the first vehicle and then they ignored topping off the fluids on the second vehicle also. So, I am now wondering, whether the rest of the services were performed that I paid for.Desired Settlement: Since they did not do what we asked them to, even after we pointed out that the service was not provided. We have no faith in this store and DO NOT want to return. We do want to be reimbursed for the service that we have paid for the both vehicles and NOT received.

went in for inspection. ended up with a almost 500.00 bill and they recomended another 600.00 on the bottom of invoice. I am a lady and got a upsetting phone call in regards to my 87 yo mother. they had to drive me home and I picked car up later. I only gave them permission to do 3 things. they certainly did take advantage of me I have receipts from a well established mechanic in roanoke who had already made repairs the same ones they were charging me for. if you do not agree with a mechanic you can ask them to remove the work thats what my credit card company told me. I was too upset about my mom and could not think clearly. I am disputing this bill. I would recommend anyone to be very cautious of this group of people. [redacted]

Review: On 8/1/2015 I had this shop rotate and balance the tires on my truck, on the way home the vibration was worse than before it was taken in. when I arrived home to see if and how many wheel weights were added I noticed how gouged up and scratched my wheels were, they were not like this at all when the vehicle went into the shop! when I called the place on Monday morning, the person on the phone told me he was new and was not sure what the problem was or how to handle it; and as for scratches and gouges, he said that may have come from the road. The truck was taken to another shop where I had to pay to have the tire balance done again and done correctly. They have caused irreparable damage to my wheels! I have tried to call the main office and sent many emails with pictures, and I have received no response whatsoever!Desired Settlement: I have taken extremely good care of my vehicle and would like for my wheels to be in the same condition that they were in before my truck entered the shop, I feel that this company should cover the cost to replace or repair my wheels.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

Review: On July 23rd, I took my 2000 Dodge Neon to [redacted] in Roanoke and had work done. While [redacted] doesn't do inspections, they looked the car over, did some repairs and said it should be good to go for state inspection. I then took it to Free Service on Electric Road in Roanoke. After about an hour, Free Service called to tell me that my front brake pads were 1/32 and the requirement to pass inspection was no less than 2/32. I disputed this over the phone. I had the worker at [redacted] call to explain what his measurements were on the brakes. They were rude to him and rude to me. They put a rejection sticker on the car, but did not give me an inspection checklist. I also feel that they tried to use a scare tactic on me by telling me that if I take my car somewhere else to have it inspected and it doesn't pass, I have to get the work done there. On the morning of July 24th, I took my car to The [redacted] on Brandon Avenue. The car passed inspection with no problem. I then called Free Service and asked to speak to the manger and explained the situation. His response was: "I stand by my inspector. If you would like to get State Police involved, you can do that, but if they bring it in here and it doesn't pass, they will rip that inspection sticker right off." Again, I believe that was another scare tactic. I then called State Police and explained the problem. A trooper met me at Free Service and the same inspector measured the brakes in front of the trooper. The minimum was 3/32 .. not 1/32. I was given dirty looks while there and was not given an apology by the manager. It was only when I mentioned to the trooper that it would be nice to get an apology that the inspector called me out as I was walking to my car to say "Hey, sorry for the trouble." Had I not pursued this, I would have been out at least $150.00 dollars for brakes.Desired Settlement: I would like to know how this mistake happened. Why during the hour that I was disputing this over the phone before I picked the car up that the inspector didn't re-check his work to be on the safe side. I would like to know if the inspector gets commission on problems that are found and the repair work. I would like a sincere apology from the company.

Response:

The customer returned a couple of days later with the State Police for review of the front brakes. It was discovered that a mistake had been made in the measurement of the brake pads, (1/32"). Our Inspector apologized for the mistake and inconvienience to the customer. We still believe and stated that the front brakes needed replacement even though it was not required for State Inspection purposes. We, at that point, offered to replace the brakes at No Charge to the customer. He accepted the offer and made an appointment for the next morning. He did not show for that appointment and we have not heard anything from him since that time.
