Review: Free State Paving sealcoated my driveway on 9/30/13. In early December 2013, I noticed a buildup of black sand material in areas on and around the edges of the driveway. In February the seal coating started peeling off in some areas.On 4/2/14 I contacted Free State Paving and spoke to Melissa K[redacted] about the problem. She stated that she would send someone to check it but no one ever came so I contacted her again on 4/16/14 and left a message but did not hear from her.On 4/24/14 I called again and Melissa told me that they were not in the seal coating season yet and when it started she would call me to take care of it.On 5/20/14 I called Melissa again and she stated there were several other customers that had the same problem and they were going to get in touch with their manufacturer SealMaster.On 6/10/14 I called Melissa to follow up and she stated that other customers had complained of the same problem and Free State had contacted the supplier SealMaster who acknowledged there was a problem with the batch of sealcoat and they would take care of it. She stated that Free State would redo the sealcoating for the customers that were affected.On 7/11/14 I called Melissa to follow up and told her that it had been over 4 months trying to resolve this issue and I want the driveway resealed or a refund of $330.00. She told me the same story that SealMaster had determined there was a problem and would take care of it and she would talk to the owner and call me back on 7/14/14 to schedule a date to redo the seal coating. She did not call me back as promised.On 7/17/14 I called Free State Paving and left a voice mail asking Melissa to have the owner Larry Van Meter call me.As of 7/24/14 I have not received a call from Mr. V[redacted].Desired Settlement: Refund of full amount $330.00

Review: I have been trying for the past two weeks to contact Freestate Paving regarding the installation of the asphalt driveway on my property. Prior to having them begin the work I was assured that the issues that I was having with the standing water at the point where the walkway and driveway meet and water standing on the driveway would be corrected during the install. Since the install every time it rains, I have standing water where the walkway and drive meet and on the driveway itself. I have tried and left messages to no avail. The owner has not returned my phone calls. The owner did send out two workers on 04/20/13, to see what the problem was and they said that they would talk to their boss and get back to me. I have not heard anything from the owner about how he is going to resolve this problem. The contract states that I have a three year warranty on their work. I would just like to have a driveway that has no water issues like was agreed upon by the owner that he was capable of doing.

In addition to the standing water, there are areas where the asphalt is uneven close to the garage doors.Desired Settlement: I would like for the company to repair/ replace the driveway to correct the drainage issues and the uneven areas. I think it could be accomplished by regrading the driveway to drain towards the ravine and to install a drain pipe to direct the water to the drop off area (ravine).
