Freedom Oak Barrels

Bought a 2 liter barrel in Jan. Have not been able to seal it despite several weeks of repeating the prescribed curing procedure. As of today ( 6-25-2022) 2/3 of the contents has leaked out in just the past 5 weeks. No response from repeated outreaches to Freedom Oak . Great idea, just poorly made products.

Ordered 2 barrels as Christmas gifts on Nov. 30 2021 and never received the package. Tried contacting the company which has an funny automated response email and no other way to contact. They provided a bogus tracking number that up to this day on March 8th 2022 says out for delivery. Total scam... dont lose your money like I did. Even contacted UPS and they said the company has to make the report. So far 3 months trying to contact the company.

This company needs to be shut down. As with many, many others ours busted just outside the 30 day window and customer service blames the consumer every time.

My son purchased a Freedom Oak Barrel for me. I did the recommended 10 day water cure. I did not notice that the spout had a slow leak until I filled it with Manhattans. We have contacted their customer service twice and there is no response from them. Also read their one star reviews on their website. All sound like something you would write for a 5 star review. So bogus. Do not buy from this company.

The Barrel looked great when we received it.
After following all the instructions, the barrel still leaked.
Tried some barrel wax but that did not help.
Restarted the process a few times but still leaked.
I finally took the barrel apart and found a knot inside with a big cavity in the stave where it was leaking, a defect in the product.

I have submitted more than 10 emails but no response on a replacement.
Please read their reviews everywhere you can find them, not just the ones they choose to put on their site.

I received a barrel as a gift and followed the instructions thoroughly and the barrel leaked. I contacted company and was advised to treat the seams with barrel wax which I did and again followed instructions to a tee. The barrel still leaked and the metal bands became loose as well. I contacted the company for a replacement and was told they don't replace barrels nor do they give refunds.
I still however continue to receive emails from them trying to sell me something else...good luck!
I don't usually give bad reviews, but this was the worse customer service I ever experienced. Most reputable companies will work something out with their customers, but Freedom Oak Barrels refused to assist at all. That being said, I don't recommend purchasing anything from them.

I don’t typically get on here and make negative post or try to belittle a company but Freedom Oak Barrels is completely a scam company that should be exposed as such. They market that the barrel will be engraved and shipped within 5 days. They market as a small business but apparently allows for mass ordering knowing that they are unable to fulfill the order in the marketed time frame. They will immediately deduct the money out of your account, refuse to provide customer service on your order, refuse to return email request and seems apparent that they are scamming their customers. I am highly disappointed and just wanted to give everyone a heads up to not get caught up in this scam. I was going to surprise my dad with a personalized barrel for his bar but it’s apparent that it will not be completed and no telling when I will be refunded. Here is their BBB rating with a 1.5 stars with people saying the same thing.

I purchased a 3 liter barrel for my son for his 40th birthday. He went through all the proper steps to condition the barrel for use. When the barrel still had a leak, he contacted Freedom Oak Barrels via email twice (they do not have a phone number). He included the Order# as well as pictures of the barrel to show where it was leaking. All you get get is an auto-response email from them. I followed up with them after my son got no response and all I got was the same auto-response email. This is not a reputable company. There are several other companies with a similar customized products that have much better reputations. I wished I had done my homework better. I have since purchased a replacement barrel for my son from another company. Please do not buy from this company.

Received the barrel, did the prep work until it didn’t leak anymore. Put in top quality whiskey only to have it leak out. Contacted the company 3 times. No response. Don’t waste your money!

This site is a scam. Ordered my barrel and never received it yet they took my money. They blame it on the "carrier" yet they never have proof they give the package to the carrier. All they do is create a shipping label then they tell you they sent it and now its in the "carriers" hands and they can't do anything about it. They also delete negative comments on their Facebook page. If you make a negative comment they delete it and they make it so you can no longer comment on their page. They also have not refunded me my money!

my 1.5 gallon barrel was a Christmas present .I filled it with water as the instructions said after a week it quit leaking I drained it ,filled it with 100 proof and topped it off for 2 days after that the outside wood dried I assume and over nite it lost 1/2 pint [I had it setting in a pan in my wine room . .I drained it because the 100.p was blue from the outside of the barrel . barrel is no good
