Freedom Pest Control Company Reviews (%countItem)

Fast, friendly service. John did a great job! He showed up on time and sent a text to inform me when he was in his way. Keep up the great work!

We hired Freedom Pest Control in May 2016 to get rid of carpenter bees at our home. My husband ended up signing an annual contract that covered all pest control issues for a year. We still saw some bees after our property was treated in 2016. It was difficult to tell if they had been eradicated. In early spring 2017, the bees appeared again -- many many of them. We called to have Freedom come back out, when there were still a few weeks left on our annual contract. A date was scheduled and a technician did come on that date but it began to rain just after he arrived and he said he could not do the treatment. I explained that the contract would be up and he said it did not matter, that someone would come back to do it. After several calls, *** at the company said she put another work order in and someone would be out soon, weather permitting. We never heard from them again - except we just received an email to renew the contract - when they never got rid of the problem!

Freedom Pest Control Company Response

Service began on May 4th, 2016. Customer complaint was bee activity.

Confirmed activity on the rear side of the home to be carpenter bees. There are approximately (9) holes on the rear side of the fascia board, behind the trim work.Customer opted to move forward with the Gold Plan today.Set RTU mouse bait stations throughout the basement, and exterior storage crawlspace. Applied ant bait gel into cracks and crevices along the basement sill, underneath the front door.Unable to treat the exterior foundation for general insect control, due to inclement weather. Also unable to treat the carpenter bee activity today, due to rain. These exterior services are to be done with a 2 week mouse follow up service. Customer was instructed to call into the office and schedule the follow up service.

Follow up service was completed May 21, 2016 to complete the foundation treatment, treatment for bees and to follow up regarding any mouse activity.

Treated the exterior foundation, around all entrance ways, and ground level window frames for the control and prevention of ants and other general crawling insects.Applied a residual dust treatment behind the fascia boards on the rear gable side of the home, for carpenter bee activity.Inspected and serviced RTU mouse bait stations throughout the basement and exterior attached storage area. No activity was found in the basement. Light to moderate mouse activity, based on bait consumption, was found in the storage area. Stations were rebaited as needed.

Service for follow up for bees was requested and we returned to retreat on June 23, 2016.

Met with customer to address bee issue, showed areas of concern, applied dust formulation insecticide along the eaves on the back side of the house, and around the eaves on the shed, no activity seen at the moment of application, explained customer he might see some activity until the dust takes effect, thank you.

July 12, 2016 Freedom Pest Control returned to address an issue with mice.

April 28, 2017 we returned to address bee activity and treatment to the foundation. Due to inclement weather, we were unable to treat the foundation at this time. Bee issue was addressed as noted.

Met with customer. Was shown where carpenter bees have been coming around. Dusted under siding in rear eves of home and around shed. Replaced and rebaited all stations under storage area under family room. All stations were empty. Added additional stations to shed. Suggested to customer to remove everything from storage area and seal along edges with foam and place a weather stripping in front of the two doors to keep the mice out. We need to return to treat exterior foundation.

May 4, 2017 Freedom Pest control returned on a dry day to treat the foundation of the home outside of the warranty as we owed the customer the service.

The ***'s called on May 19th to report an issue with bees. The call was received well after the expiration date of the program and we advised Mr. & Mrs. that their contract had expired. We would be happy to return to complete a 1 time treatment, a treatment under a seasonal program or to renew their Gold Plan Coverage. Bees are a seasonal issue and there is no guarantee that they will not seek to rebuild once we have treated. Often they will reestablish very close to the previous area.

Initial service for bees was completed in May of 2016 and we returned a month later to treat a new group of bees. Bees are active through August to September and as evident by the fact that we did not receive a call to return until the 2017 season; the original bee issue was resolved. I am happy to offer a 10% discount towards renewal, I feel we have honored our contract and have returned to treat under the contract period every time a request was made for treatment.

Please reach me with any questions.

Regards,

***

Customer Response

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ***. .

With apologies in delay of my response, I reject Freedom Pest Control's response to my complaint because it is inaccurate. On 4/28/17 the Freedom technician did not address the bee activity in the eaves of the house due to the inclement weather. He put a ladder up and then it started to rain. He said it would not be worth doing the treatment due to the rain and the company would have to return for that. On 5/4/17 technicians returned but did not address the bee activity, only treated the foundation. When I called to follow up on this on 5/19/17 and spoke to the person who answers the phone at Freedom, I specifically said the bee treatment was not done and she said she would put in a new order for it, but it may take a week or two because of inclement weather in the forecast. We were past the contract expiration but this was work that had been requested well before the end of the contract, and had not been completed by Freedom. We never heard from Freedom again until they asked us to renew.

I am sorry for any confusion regarding the service received. After *** had called to schedule a retreat outside of the warranty period, we reviewed the notes from the technician and spoke with the technician directly and received confirmation that he had indeed treated the bee issue but was unable to treat the foundation on the day referenced. The area of the bee issue is not on the ground and criteria for treatment differs.

We reached out to inform *** that the bee issue had been addressed and that the plan had expired; if she wished to renew the Gold Plan coverage, we were happy to send the technician to treat.

[I do not understand the most recent response. Both my husband and I were at my home, in the yard with the technician, the day that it started to rain and he could not complete the bee treatment on the house. He NEVER got up on a ladder to spray under the eaves, which the main location of the bees (the under being the shed). It began to rain, he said he could not finish and that we should not worry, the company would come back. They came back but they did not at that time go up on a ladder to do the bee treatment under the eaves. In my most recent call to the company, I said the bees are buzzing constantly and was told they would come out without any mention of an issue with the expired contract. We were under contract when the job was supposed to be done. Why would we renew the contract when the company did not do what we hired them to do the first time around?

I cannot, at this time confirm or deny whether or not a ladder was placed to treat for the bees on the date of service as it has been 3 months. I can confirm however, that the bees were treated as is noted in 2 areas of the work order. Also please be aware that the Gold coverage is for service to your home and as a courtesy the technicians includes service for the shed. As a general rule, we do not use a ladder to treat for bees. The technicians have bee poles with several attachments and treatment is completed from the ground.

I am sorry that you did not observe the technician treating the bees at the shed, the treatment was completed and your program had expired when you called to report further issues. I am happy to honor the original discounted offer for renewal or treatment.

Regards
