I highly recommend looking through and questioning every aspect of opening an auto insurance policy with Hanover Insurance Group They refused to pay for non- insured drivers property damage on my vehicle even though I had the coverage on my paid policy with them It was a hit-skip driver who fled the scene of a car accident where the hit skip driver was responsible for this accident A police report was filed with identification of the vehicle but driver was not found Their reason for denial of the claim was because the driver was not found they did not know whether he had insurance or not Well to me it is obvious mhe ran for a reason and the odds he did not have coverage was great in my opinion I suffered a total loss of my vehicle because of this accident and Hanover would not pay anything on this claim so I am just putting this out there to warn others they have a loop hole for this kind of coverage so be careful! I changed insurance companies because of this and would not ever recommend them

Hanover/Citizens just provided me with the WORST experience ever Put Citizens/Hanover against a driver whom is covered by State Farm and Hanover/Citizens caves in To boot, the guy side-swiped me It really doesn't amaze me what people can get away with What amazes me more is the high premiums I pay to a company that didn't want to support me when the physical evidence was on my side Buyer beware, all Hanover/Citizens wants is your money and jack up your rates with little effort to defend you

I'm not a custom to filing complaints, but I felt your company should know how Kimberly *** is treating clients
She first lost the letter from the QME, after a year or so she found it
Next she argued with me about the percentage, then after a week she emailed me saying that she had found a mistake
My physician, Dr *** sent (in July) request for authorization for next treatmentKimberly said she didn't get it
Kimberly *** has been so rude in her emails, it's shocking and embarrassingI have kept copies
Meanwhile, I suffer with a painful hand waiting for treatment
Thank you, *** ***

Worse insurance experiences everWith Hanover, I had two experiences dealing with themThe first was to initially contact them inquiring about home insurance policies, as I just moved to a new apartmentThey were pretty nice at the beginning and talked about their coverage and different policiesBut they are not very professional comparing to other big insurersWhen I asked very detailed questions, they are not that welcoming anymoreThe representative that picked up my call wanted to end my call as soon as they figured I may not actually purchase their insuranceThe second time my experiences went even worse with HanoverI got contacted by one of their underwriter because they are the business insurer for a clinic that we want to hold it responsible for my friend's injurySo Hanover called me asking what happened and what they are investigating to approve or deny a coverageThe underwriter was so UNPROFESSIONAL as she was very impatient listening to usAfter I said a few words, she simply said, "ok, I will issue a denial on the claim." Well, since they are not my insurance company, they are covering the clinic that on the opposite sideI understand if the underwriter make any decisionsBut she was very rude and impatient to me! I am just providing my version of what happened and what might cause my friend's injuryIt is so unprofessional for Hanover to be RUDE on meIt seems they take pride on denying any claimsBut excuse me, luckily Hanover is not my insurance company

I had a problem with my roofHanover took care of the problem swiftly and did an excellent jobI couldn't be happier with the result I would recommend them to anyone, and I often do

Where do I start, I got into a collision back in April of this year. One of Hanover's insured drivers hit my vehicle from behind. She was driving on an expired tag and was in the wrong. The police stated she was in the wrong and it is in the police report. Hanover has done nothing but gives me the runaround. I have emailed both Dave and Kimberly and they both pass the buck to each other. I have sent email after email and have also sent pictures and supporting documentation to support my claim. Kimberly apparently loses your information as to where you have to resend her things. It is so many things wrong with the way I was treated from phones being hung up in my face to discrepancies in letters they have sent regarding the accident. The bodily injury adjuster offered me one amount one day and then weeks later he offered me an extremely low amount. When asked why I was being lowballed he states that their investigation did not find that their driver was 100% responsible. I had a witness, someone who I do not know from a can of paint come forward and state what she saw. This insurance group is low budget and has horrible CUSTOMER SERVICE. They don't care about their own insured or anyone that their insured hit for that matter.

Well I'm gonna give Hanover Insurance Group the benefit of the doubt for 1 more day until I check the mailbox AGAIN tomorrow. Said claim payment was mailed on Jan. 15th 2014 from Mass. To MD. Now it's the 23rd of Jan.2014. REALLY ? Claims told me one thing on phone & the adjustor another. Told me check was printed on Sun. the 18th and went out on Mon.the 19th. I told him that Mon. Was a federal holiday & he said Tues. I didn't hit my own car. It was one of Hanover's long-term customers who was nice enough to track me down & admit fault. He had better hope he doesn't have to claim wreck on his own vehichle. He's screwed. ( He hit me with a front end loader )

These people steal money, and still have the audacity to treat people in such a rude way.

My son was struck from behind in his vehicle. The car was totaled. The Hanover agent only authorized a five day car rental. My son had rental on his insurance and he has the Umbrella policy. Enterprise rental came and got the rental after five days, although my son did not have a replacement vehicle. I spoke with my [redacted] Insurance agent who left two messages with the adjuster to call me to explain why my son only had a rental car for five days. The Hanover Adjustor never returned the calls. I would not recommend Hanover they treat you like a second class citizen.
