Request for oil change
I have been dealing with Freehold Hyundai for many years and have purchased at least 3 cars from there and for this I am considered a "loyal customer"..So as a "loyal" customer I requested an oil change for my Sonata and I was told because I wanted to "wait" for my car at the dealership the next appointment would be in 1 month. In the past for several years I always got an appointment within a couple of days.Of course they blamed it on "we are so busy now"..WHAT!.Just not right "loyal" customer or not.

Review: Hello, I purchased a 2010 Santa Fe from Freehold Hyundai. Two hours later, when I arrived home, I noticed that they had give me a defective and unsafe tire that was covered with an excessive amount of tire shine to prevent me from noticing that there was a bubble and 2 gouges. I contacted my "salesperson" [redacted], who did absolutely nothing for me. After waiting 1 week to hear back from the dealership, I decided to get the tire replaced my self. I went to a tire shop, where they told me that all 4 tires needed replacement, I contacted Freehold Hyundai, and spoke to [redacted] (service) and [redacted] (Customer Service) about this issue and [redacted] (sales Manager), who tells me that I have to drive the 70 miles to the dealership so that he can "inspect" the tires, and if he feels that its road hazard then he wont replace the tires. In addition to that, the temporary plates on the vehicle have expired for a week and still no plates from the dealer, that refused to let us register the vehicle ourselves. It seems that once they received the money for the vehicle they didn't want to have anything to do with us again. I feel that this dealership was very deceitful and thieving when they knowingly put an unsafe tire on the vehicle that they sold me and will do anything to sidestep their responsibility to correct this issue with the vehicle.Desired Settlement: Replacement of the tires with tires in good condition.

Dear [redacted], This letter is regarding complaint ID #[redacted] from [redacted] Our notes indicate that [redacted] contacted us on August 5 regarding his tires. It was explained by three of our employees that we need to see the vehicle so that we can determine if the tires are in need of replacement. [redacted] had an appointment for August 13 so that we could look at the tires but he was a no show. We called him to follow up and he said he would call us when he can come in.

There were also some issues about his plates and registration. He was upset that no one contacted him. We explained that a post card was mailed out to notify him of their arrival. As he was upset we agreed to mail them if he would sign a form stating that he would take responsibility and destroy his temp tags, he refused to sign. Reluctantly we mailed them out anyway.

As stated above, we need to inspect the tires to make any determination.

Should you need anything additional do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Freehold Hyundai

Review: I purchased a 2012 Hyundai Touring Wagon in June 2015. I was never advised that the vehicle had been painted (until 6 weeks after purchase when I got purchase documents emailed to me, at my request as they had not been previously sent, which included a form I should have had to sign acknowledging the paint job), though I figured this out for myself as all the windows, when in direct sunlight or wet, showed paint specks fully across each window that interfered with visibility.

I mentioned this to them when picking up my spare key a month or so after purchase (it was supposed to be ready the week after purchase). they said I needed to make a service appt. Because of the distance from my home, I dovetailed this issue with my first oil change on 10/12/15. Service had their wash crew try to fix this, instead of handing me over to used car sales prep, that they indicated should really take care of this. my windows are somewhat improved in sunlight, but very difficult to see through when wet.

I just called to set up an appointment to have this resolved. they want me to do the one hour plus round trip just to look at my vehicle before setting up an appointment. this is a dangerous situation, should I get caught in rain, and I should not have to waste my time, effort or gas to make a trip for a sales manager to see what their service department already confirmed - that I have paint all over my windows! The sales manager as much as hung up on me, saying 'thank you, have a good day, click.Desired Settlement: I would like an immediate weekend or evening appointment convenient to me that will have their used care prep staff do whatever it is they usually do after painting a car to get all paint off windows that might have landed there.

This is in response to complaint ID #[redacted] from [redacted] At the customer's convenience [redacted] came in on Saturday November 7 and we removed the foreign substance from her windows and windshield. We cleaned and polished the glass and it was then inspected by the General Sales Manager, Peter P[redacted] and [redacted] herself. She left satisfied. Our Customer Service Manager, Audriena D[redacted] followed up with [redacted] on Monday November 9th and [redacted] said that it seems like everything has been taken care of at this time. She will contact us if there is an issue.

Should you need anything additional feel free to contact me directly at [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me, though, as they indicated, I will follow up with them if there are further issues as the problem only surfaces under certain weather conditions.

Regards,

Because I didn't want to take their deal and shop around they threatened me by telling me they were going to call all of the banks and tell him not to give me a loan disrespectful and unprofessional! I actually videotaped and recorded the whole incident! Terrifying experience!

Review: Upon sending my offer on a 2013 Sonata SE to the Freehold Dealership I requested a confirming quote. Freehold Hyundai replied with a favorable quote & requested I come to the Dealership. After arriving I gave my name & the details above. To my dissatisfaction I spent significant time on the issues & data sent to & acknowledged by the Dealership. Several sales rep.s or managers came over to discuss the matter. I told them I came to the Dealership because their response/quote was in agreement with my offer. It was a nightmare so I informed the Dealership that if it did not seek to honor the price I would go elsewhere.Sonatas price including destination fee & options was agreed, i.e., a taxable amount of $22,522 to max. $23,000. A qualifying incentive of $1,000 was to be paid to the Dealership.I understand the goal is to max. profits but not to make misrepresentations. The Dealership stated my incentives must be added to the sales price for tax purposes. I disputed this stating sales taxes are paid on the sales price only. I was assured by the Dealer their approach was correct. Because this was my 3rd car purchased from the Dealership I accepted its position. I found that the Dealership statement is incorrect. I was overcharged between $1,300 and $800 in excess of the Dealers gross price quote & agreed price. Weeks ago the Dealership agreed to compromise on a settlement of $1,000 in cash & services which was fair. I have not heard from the Dealership. The GSM, [redacted] twice agreed on the terms; therefore, I would like to provide the Dealership one last chance to honor the agreement before taking the matter to Hyundai Corp. & posting the details of a broken agreement & dreadful experience on [redacted]. I appreciate the effort of the Revdex.com to resolve this matter.I have doc.s to support the above. Yet, because integrity is important to me I will say that if the Dealership can show I have erred I will drop the matter & quickly apologize to the Dealership.Thank YouDesired Settlement: Desire Revdex.com feedback if Dealership will honor agreement. This will guide me on further actions to be taken.

Review: Extremely aggressive sales experience, bait and switch on lease price. Finally agreed to terms for $x out of pocket and $x/month. Hyundai was to buy out my current lease &out of pocket $ was to cover ALL expenses including but not limited to 1st month,Tax,Title, DMV/Reg, Plates, etc. They would mail paperwork to my father (co-signer) instructing him to sign and notarize. Dealer would call when plates came in. I was aggressively “asked” to be sure to “give 10’s” on the survey as that was how the dealer/sales got rated by corporate.Completely unethical.I drove off in the car with Temp plates in the meantime. Days later I’m called and told there’s an issue running my Dad’s credit (its pristine). Numerous calls later I was left to fend for myself with Hyundai Finance, finally determining the dealer sent the wrong SS#, which held up the paperwork completion. Finally dealer sends paperwork to Dad in Florida; he signed and returned, yet did not get it notarized, the package sent did not specify it being notarized. After the dealer told me it needed to be notarized, I called my Dad to assure it got notarized this time. Received 2nd packet, again, no written instruction from dealer, he did in fact get it notarized and sent back. Finally, I was called to pick up my plates and also received a mail stating same and noting $0 was due. I went to pick up my plates and was told I had balance of $x. I noted I had covered all up front fees based on a signed contract, I was told unless I paid the $x I would not receive my plates. Argument ensued and I was told “you trashed the dealership” in the survey, “you want your plates, pay the $x”. I was berated for my personal credit score & told I shouldn’t have even gotten the deal I did. I was told their was a balance on the trade in for my prior vehicle, but then I was told due to the time it took to get paperwork completed there were additional fees for plates. Angered & distrusting, I left, no plates, w. expired temp plates.Desired Settlement: I eventually spoke to the guy I signed paperwork with who said he “would wave the fee, just see me”. I went in and was told I’d need to pay my Oct pmt to the dealership in order to get the plates. Mind you I have yet to receive a bill in mail, and while Oct is due, I was not about to give the dealership $ that is supposed to go to Hyundai Finance. Dealer claimed to paid Hyundai Finance. Again, I left, no plates. I then registered on-line at Hyundai Finance and see the Oct payment was due, and site has the wrong mailing address. Having zero trust in dealer, I call Hyundai corporate and explain situation and they are looking into it as we speak. All in all, the absolute worst purchase experience I have ever had, and the first time I have ever made a complaint to Corporate or Revdex.com. As of now, no plates, expired temp plates & possibility of tickets. I simply want the plates next day'd to me for no fee and I will deal with Hyundai Finance and make my normal monthly payments to them.

Response:

This issue has been handled. The fee due was a difference in the pay off amount for his trade, this fee has been waived. I brought Mr. [redacted] his plates on Friday October 18th and provided a certificate for a full detail on his new vehicle. Should you need anything additional do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at ###-###-####.

Review: Freehold Hyundai

After a month's interaction, salesman William M[redacted] made a deal with me ( in writing). This was to sell me a 2015 Sonata for $20500 on the road, with the trade in of my old car (this was suggested by William and agreed to by me). We agreed to effect the sale today 5/25. When I came, after William taking my car keys and giving me the Sonatas keys, someone called Tony R[redacted] (?) Informed me that my car was not worth $1000 and so I had to pay $21,400. I told him this was not my deal with William. He said he would deal with William etc etc etc

The dealership of Freehold Hyundai has been violated an agreed upon contract - verbally and written. They have shown to be dishonorable and untrustworthy. They should be suitably dealt with so they do not continue their deceitful ways

PS I have the entire interaction on email, in case you want to verify my statementsDesired Settlement: I would like the agreed upon contract with Freehold Hyundai to be honored

Response:

As per our conversation, we believe we have an agreed upon settlement with [redacted] The customer is going away for a month and will not purchase the vehicle until they return. Both parties have agreed upon the value of the trade in. The customer also understands that they will be eligible for the current incentives at the time of actual purchase next month. If anything changes during this time period we will update the record.

Review: I recently purchased a used car at the lot in Freehold.

After having it for a week I returned to the shop due to a noise in the front end.I was told I needed an appointment. Within the next two weeks I returned. I was informed it the roters were worn down and needed to be replaced. When buying a used car from a dealer the customer pays more than when buying it from an individual. The customer therefore pays more and expects the auto to be in tip top condition. Obviously this was not true of my purchase. I am disappointed with the sales and service of the company. I have gone to the service department twice and also to the manager and sales representative to speak with them about the problem. Both are saying to speak with the other person. I have spent over 6 hours of waiting for a solution to this problem. I have also emailed the manager and service representatives. I feel I am getting the "run around" and the company is not offering to repair the auto free of charge. I believe the company is responsible as they claim the car has been checked and in excellent condition when it was purchasedDesired Settlement: Repair of brakes free of charge, loaner car for the duration of the repair.

I spoke with **. [redacted] yesterday and she already had an appointment for July 2nd. It was agreed that we would replace the rotors and provide a rental vehicle for her. She was concerned that we couldn’t get her in sooner as she had a business trip coming up. I spoke with the service manager and she has been rescheduled for service tomorrow and all will be resolved before her trip. If you or **. [redacted] should need anything additional do not hesitate to contact me. My direct dial is [redacted].Thank you,[redacted]
