This letter is to inform you about the complaint received in our office on 04/10/with ID # *** The patient presented to Freeman Dental Office on 11/13/for all lower extractions at which time Dr*** recommended 6-weeks of healing time The patient presented back to
our office on 03/01/where he was evaluated to see if he was ready to start the denture process The options were discussed Dr*** recommended an implant supported denture for the best fit The second option was a conventional lower denture The patient was on the fence about the conventional or implant supported denture due to finances being a big concern Dr*** then recommended to start with a conventional denture and he could later retrofit to an implant denture if necessary The patient agreed to start the conventional denture and initial impressions were taken The patient presented on 03/14/for the second step of the denture process, which was the final impressions On 03/30/the third step, jaw relation was completed Then on 04/11/patient presented for a try in and patient was satisfied with the fit and the appearance We did tell the patient that we would call the patient as soon as the denture was back in our office because we knew he was wanting to get the denture before a wedding The case was received on 04/28/and the receptionist did call the patient and left a messageWe were in office on 04/29/so if patient would have called or came in we would have been able to deliver the denture The patient never returned the call and never contacted our office The office manager sent the head of house hold a bill that had a balance on another patient in the same household as well as the balance of Mr*** Then we received a message on 05/13/with very foul language in the message, the patient was upset about receiving the bill The receptionist called the patient back and told him that we have not sent the claim in to the insurance so the total amount on the bill had not taken into consideration of what the insurance may pay The receptionist scheduled the patient to come in on 05/16/to deliver the denture Mr*** did not inform the receptionist at this phone call that he no longer had insuranceThe patient came in on 05/16/and the denture was delivered The patient did pay $on the date of delivery Freeman Dental filed the insurance on the delivery date and the insurance denied the claim due to the patient’s dental insurance was termed on the date of the delivery The patient was contacted to inform him that the insurance did not pay Mr *** has not contacted our office to let us know that the denture is not fitting properly It isn’t unusual to need adjustments to a denture after the denture is delivered The patient did sign our Patient Financial and Appointment Policy on 11/13/ Below is a portion of that policy. “Your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company The doctor is not involved However, as a courtesy, we will file your insurance claim for you If your insurance company does not pay the practice within a reasonable length of time, we will have to look to you for payment.” We feel like the patient does owe for the denture that he received Thank you for your time. I  did use one foul word not directed at anyone because you guys sent me a bill 908.20 on 5-6 16 I am sorry about that. I do want to resolve this matter and I am willing to work for that. thank you. no collection companies my credit rating is 850.
