Freeport Automotive Service Center Reviews (1)

Review: I took my car in and told owner I had a leak. Oil/transmission and wanted it repaired. He gave me an estimate of $700.54. They kept my car for three days. When the car was suppose to have been repaired they called and said it would cost less because there was no leak from oil pan, &472.10 I took car back seven days later because the car still had a leak. They gave me another estimate of $1,554.35 to correct the problem. I refused because I had no more money and felt I was being taken advantage of.Desired Settlement: The owner said he would give me a discount, id only have to pay $477.29, after having a conversation EARLY the next morning, I rejected and the price went back up.

I in turn took my car to another shop with just as bad results, that complaint is also enclosed.. I still have a leak and am out of $1,357.54

Response:

Response:On October 20 2015, Ms. [redacted] brought her vehicle to our shop to get her vehicle inspected for leaks. After inspection, we discovered that she had multiple leaks, including leaks from the transmission pan gasket, crank angle sensor, cam shaft position sensor, and a possible leak from the front timing cover of her Mercury Sable. Ms. [redacted] approved the repairs for replacing the transmission pan gasket, crank angle sensor, and the cam shaft position sensor. At that time, she declined repairs for the front timing cover. It was explained to her that she would still have a leak from that front timing cover. She was originally given an estimate of $700.54 for these repairs, but was only charged a total of $472.10. On October 29 2015, Ms. [redacted] returned to our shop proclaiming that she still had a leak from her vehicle. After once again inspecting the vehicle, we found that there was no longer leaks coming from her transmission pan, but was in fact from the front timing cover. At that time, we then recommended replacing the timing chain cover, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gasket totaling $1357.54 but repairs were declined once again. She was not charged for this inspection. The owner offered Ms. [redacted] a discount to repair all of the leaks, which she at first approved. We then received a phone call from her the following morning, telling us not to continue with the repairs. We have all of the supporting documentation regarding this particular case, and we are sorry that we will not be able to help Ms. [redacted] with her repairs.
