I talked with Chuck G[redacted], and he has agreed to pay to have the van shipped from Lander to a dealership in Fort Collins, CO where it can be fixed. He will also provide me with a loaner vehicle until the van has been repaired. He has also agreed to pay for all repairs in order to get the van running properly.  He stated that if it is found that the engine is faulty then the warranty will be upheld, and a new engine will be installed. If these promises are fulfilled and they are able to get the engine running properly or replace the engine I would accept this response.  If they do not follow through with these promises then I do not accept. This is a very difficult problem to locate. It seems to only become a problem when it is started cold and very rarely even then. It has been determined that whatever the problem is has nothing to do with the new engine and transmission that VW replaced and for that reason is not under VW warranty....

The van is 15 years old with 172,000 miles and the engine and transmission were replaced a year and five months ago. It has been driven over 10,000 miles since the engine installation.Fremont VW would be happy to again try to duplicate and repair the vehicle and provide a loaner. With the colder weather there is a better chance to locate the concern.

I am rejecting this response because:  Fremont VWs response was false. The problem occurs whether it is cold or warm.  They have reproduced it multiple times. It is difficult to reproduce as the problem only occurs intermittently, and usually within the first three blocks of driving.  It was NEVER a problem with the previous engine, and only started occurring after Fremont VW replaced the last engine with the current one.  The problem is with the engine or the installation. They have replaced wiring harnesses, put in additives, and replaced hoses going to/from the engine, yet the problem persists. I feel that it is obvious that it is a problem with the engine (as it never occurred a single time with the previous engine), and the problem has been present since my first time driving it after the engine was replaced over 18 months ago.  The engine problem has been present since Day 1, and Fremont VW has been unable to address or resolve the engine problem.  I was given a new warranty for 12 months 12,000 miles on July 31st, 2017.  It has warranty until July 31, 2018.  Fremont VW has been unable to resolve the issue in over 18 months.  They have said on several occasions that they can't diagnose a problem with the engine, and they keep changing hoses and wiring harnesses, but none of these have resolved the issue.  It is the engine that is continuing to stall at intersections. Only the engine and transmission were replaced, and the vehicle never had a stalling problem before those two things were replaced.  On the last visit to Fremont VW they said that they replaced a hose and found out that it hadn't ever been properly attached to the engine.  This was an installation problem, which is also covered by the warranty.  Again, I ask that the engine be replaced or I receive a refund for the cost of the engine. I have attached copies of the warranty and some of the service notes from VW.  Thank you.[redacted]
