French Cleaners & Shirt Laundry

Review: I took a queen sized down comforter to the cleaner to have it cleaned at the end of the winter season. When I went to pick it up, it had black marks all over it that hadn't been there before. When they saw what had happened, they offered to clean it again.

They re-cleaned it, and the same marks were on it. When I went by to pick it up, the girl who waited on me saw the marks and remarked that it looked like it had been burned in the cleaning process. I told her I needed to talk with the owner about getting the comforter replaced.

I was finally able to get him on the phone several weeks later. He seemed interested in working it out with me and was going to check into getting a replacement at Fred Meyer (where it was purchased.) Months went by and I never heard anything. I finally sent a letter to the owner saying I needed to have this resolved or I would report him to the Revdex.com. After about a week, he finally called and apologized for not getting back to me. He assured me he would give me a check for $200 and a $50 credit toward future dry cleaning. The comforter was on sale at that time down from $270. We had a nice conversation and found out we used to be neighbors. I assumed the issue was finally resolved. He wanted me to come to the store and pick up the check, and I asked him to please mail it to me. He said he would send it to me.

When I hadn't received a check several weeks later, I stopped at the store. He had "just left" and couldn't be reached by cell phone. No one knew about the situation and there was no check for me.

It's now been several weeks past that time. Just today I found that the comforter is not only no longer on sale at Fred Meyer, but they are no longer selling down comforters, either in the store or online. I'm angry and frustrated that I could have replaced my comforter then at a good price at the time this all happened.

I'm tired of the run around. I need to purchase a new comforter as the weather is getting chilly.Desired Settlement: I want $250 cash toward the cost of purchasing a new comforter. Or I would take $200 and return of the ruined comforter.
