Fresh Start Tax Reviews (%countItem)

This company has taken our money and not delivered on any of the promises made in the contract. We hired this company to handle IRS issues and it has been difficult trying to communicate with the *** I have spoken to the "manager" and still we are in the dark with what we need to do to move forward. My husband and I paid a separate company to prepare tax returns which were turned over to Fresh Start for review and have since requested they be returned with no response. It is always "I'll call you back" and then nothing. We have to threatened legal action from our attorney in order to get a call. We have retained an attorney and plan to turn this matter over for a FULL refund of our money and ALL of the returns in their possession. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Desired Outcome

Refund I would like a FULL refund of our money paid and return of ALL returns given to FST, LLC.

Hi,
I am not satisfied with the company's response. They simply called me to appease me and then requested I delete the complaint. I stated I will not make this request until I received the monthly update. This did not happen at the end of last month and I am still very dissatisfied with this company. They only respond to threats.

and *** Clients retained Fresh Start Tax 02/16/2018 fee $2900 flat rate, 1. Fresh Start Tax was retained to review the IRS situation and find a solution.a. Fresh Start Tax reviewed the IRS record and Tax Returns that had been prepared by another tax company for accuracy. Fresh Start Tax also prepared tax returns that were missing (all covered in the fee.)b. Fresh Start Tax reviewed the total tax debt and matched it against the tax payers' current income. (Fresh Start Tax wanted to see the rough payment plan.)2. Fresh Start Tax reviewed the documents and put a package together for resolution.a. At that time Fresh Start Tax determined the best course of action would be to wait for the IRS to get aggressive for collections.b. Upon review of the records we discovered that the IRS was not being aggressive with collections. A lion share of the debt would expire by statute in 2021. Our records review showed that the IRS had already given up collections on the 2007 tax year. The majority of the debt will now expire in the next 13 months. c. If we can hold the IRS from collections the debt will expire and be removed from the record with all penalties and interest.3. It was in the best interest of the client to prepare a package and wait until the IRS got aggressive for collections before we submitted it. The payment plan for the IRS will be completely based on the taxpayers' income. The tax payer would have the same payment plan today or 10 months from now. Our original estimate is a payment plan of about $2500 per month. This payment would be $2500 per month if setup on X-XX-XXXX or today. Our strategy to date has saved the taxpayer $55,000 in payments to the IRS. The worst case scenario would be if the IRS got aggressive today. If they did the taxpayer would have a payment of $2,500 per month and would pay less than half of the total debt before it expires by statute. 4. Back in November the IRS issued a new tax lien on the debt! This lien was not a collection; the IRS did not take one penny from the client. This lien means nothing unless the tax payer is selling an asset. For example if the taxpayer was selling a property the IRS would have first claim on any profit of the home sale. An IRS tax lien is no longer reported to the credit agencies so it does not even affect the credit score.

We contacted the client and again explained the strategy and she has agreed to call and remove the complaint.

We cannot return any money to this client, we did way more than expected to please this client not to mention trying saving the client over $55,000. Too be perfectly honest, this should have been a $5000 retainer. This client cannot be pleased, God knows we tried. We have worked hundreds and hundreds cases may be up to 1000 cases. We pride ourselves on our reputation, expertise, and our A plus rating. We have talked to this client ad nausea and cannot keep her happy, simply put, we did everything we could. We put in many hours on this client and sickens me that she is not appreciative. If anything, we should have charged her more money, the fact that she wants her money backs beyond reason.
Thank you for your consideration. We pride ourself and boast about our quality of service. This shows, since 2009, 3 complaints, thats it, you cannot keep everyone happy, we did our best.
Blessings,
thank you

I am under pressure by this company to close this complaint. I have heard from them and I am satisfied with what we discussed so far.

We contracted and paid for tax preparation and IRS help with Brian Sciullo. We have not received service.
On Feb. 16, my wife an I returned the credit authorization form in the amount of $2,900 to initiate the following per the email sent by Brian S on 2/13/18:

1. I have attached a new client work sheet please fill this out. I will use this information to prepare IRS form 2848 (IRS Power of Attorney). Also attached is the Credit Card Authorization.

2. Fresh Start Tax will contact the IRS and ask for a 60 day hold on collections this is almost always granted.

3. Fresh Start Tax will download your tax history going all the way back to 2000. We will also download your Wage Information going back to 2007.

4. Once we have this information we will be able to make sure all tax returns are prepared. (WE WANT TO HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT THE TOTAL DEBT WILL BE BEFORE WE MOVE FORWARD)

5. Fresh Start Tax will give you a complete write up with all the records and give you a few options available to you. We will work together to set you up with the best resolution possible with the IRS.

The IRS is not in the habit of forgiving any Principle Debt, Penalties or Interest. The IRS is not usually willing to do a lump sum payment at a lessor amount.

6. Fresh Start Tax is your insurance policy. We want to make sure, when we are finished that you know how much you owe, why you owe it and finally that you are in the best resolution possible.

7. Fresh Start Tax will look at the returns you did and prepare or amend any returns to satisfy IRS requirements.

Our flat rate fee is $2900

FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

a. Hold on collections.
b. Full report on the debt along with review of the IRS records.
c. Up to 6 years of tax returns or amended returns.
d. Final resolution plan (to include the best payment terms possible.

On March 9th I asked for an update and we were told to bring our returns. We dropped off tax returns for multiple year to Brian that we had previously paid more than $1000 to have prepared. Brian did not prepare any returns for this year.

We met again in June to sign the returns that Brian felt should be mailed to the IRS immediately. He also discussed our 2017 return which was supposed to be submitted to the IRS for an extension. We have no knowledge if it was ever filed.

I have sent multiple emails and made MANY calls to the office just to be told he will call back. We would like our monies refunded so we can go some where else.

Desired Outcome

We would like a refund of no less than 75% of the $2900 we paid.
