Re: Complaint # XXXXXXXX
The complaint letter incorrectly states that on the customers first visit we reluctantly exchanged the loppers. On the first visit we only promised to see what we could do and...

the customer left the broken loppers here and went home with no loppers.
On the customers first visit, the father and his interpreter friend came in. (The father does not communicate well in English)
They were helped by the garden manager, [redacted] Letlow.
[redacted] looked at the loppers and
- based on the items sales history (last sale was on 01/17/15, and the item had not been on the shelf since then),
the warn condition of the lopper cutting blades (wear consistent with one years use),
- possible signs of misuse/abuse (one bent handle and one broken hook),
- the lack of a receipt,
- and the fact that these particular loppers do not come with any expressed or implied warranty,
he saw no responsibility to replace or refund this item.
[redacted] did offer to pursue the matter with the distributor. [redacted] later approached the distributor but they said no to any parts or warranty.
But, [redacted] was able to finally find another supplier with the replacement part.
At this time, (approx 8 days after the customers first visit), [redacted] called the father and or his interpreter and told who answered that the distributor refused to repair or replace the loppers, but [redacted] had found another supplier who could sell us the replacement part. The customer said to go ahead.
[redacted] was able to procure the part from his alternate distributor. [redacted] received the new part, replaced the broken blade, straightened the one bent handle,, and sharpened and adjusted the lopper with the intention of charging the customer our cost only on the new part ($10.00).
[redacted]'s intention was that his labor would be free.
P.S. The actual cost of the part was $11.00, with a suggested retail of $19.99.
This is when the Son showed up for the first time with his father. The son did not agree to the $10 cost. [redacted] said, that is ok and that he could take the new part off. The son said ok. [redacted] removed the new part and handed the loppers back to the son.
At this point, the son informed [redacted] that we were being reported to the Revdex.com.
They then left.
Respectfully,
[redacted]

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/12/30) */
[redacted]Revdex.com's Translation[redacted]
With this letter, I [redacted] M. [redacted] try to explain that I still am not happy or satisfied with your response and I continue to allege that they denied to offer an extra warranty. I feel like the business is not sticking to their word. They insist on repairing the scissors but I do not want them to repair it for the simple reason that they do not have the same results. I would like for them to replace the scissors with a new pair of scissors with warranty even if I have to pay the difference of the new scissors. Verbally, they assured me that they came with warranty when I was trying to buy a warranty. They also assured me that I was not giving the scissors good use or treating them properly. I also want to add that they did not repair the scissors well. They only replaced the blade but the handle continued to be defective.
