Mr [redacted] This is in response to complaint # [redacted] for Mr [redacted] ***.Some time before 7-11-Mr [redacted] came in and was talking to us about an oil leak in his car so we added engine oil dye to his car and advised that he should drive it 4-days to give the dye a chance to get through out his engineThen on 7-11-Mr [redacted] Brings In his car for inspection of oil leaks and found dye all over the bottom of his car and could see oil pan was leaking and transmission pan was leaking, showed Mr [redacted] the oil pan leak and that the transmission pan gasket had a split in itAdvised at that time those were the large leaks and car could have more leaks and Mr [redacted] agreed that it was possibleHe stated he was kind of a mechanic and he understood that other leaks were possibleGave Mr [redacted] an initial quote of $to reseal oil pan and reseal transmission pan Mr [redacted] authorized repairs. So upon starting work mechanic found that oil pan drain plug was very hard to turnAfter drain plug came out noticed oil pan had a thread insert in pan that indicates pan had been replaced at some point to fix stripped threads and now was not fixable and car needed new oil panCalled customer and advised that oil pan needed to be replacedAnd he authorized additional cost of $210.So oil pan was replaced and transmission pan was resealed and advised Mr [redacted] that he should clean the bottom of the car to get the old oil out from under car7-24-Mr [redacted] brought his car back and said it was still leaking so we looked some more and found the front crank seal seeping a little so we got authorization to replace crank seal, we charged him $in Labor and gave him the partsThe bottom of the car looked like it had been cleaned but not very well and still had oil all over the place8-8-Mr [redacted] brought car back in for oil leak and found intake manifold leaking at corner of intake manifold so we resealed intake manifold at no cost to him even though we had 4-hours in labor and $in parts attempting to resolve this situation.8-22-Mr [redacted] comes in again complaining about oil leak, so we inspect and find that the power rack + pinion unit was leaking a little bit and advise Mr [redacted] of the leak and his response was we should fix it at no cost to himAt this point we feel we have done everything possible to make Mr [redacted] happy but feel like he is attempting to take advantage of the situation and try to get as much as he can for freeWe don't feel he deserves a refund and let me state again he never said anything about having any steering problems and I think he just said that to try to bolster his case because we told him his rack and pinion needs to be replaced and that is his way to try to get it done

Mr *** sent us some items to reworkThis was in the middle of our (very arduous) move from our home for years to a new locationThis move still isn't finished, and most of our equipment, machinery and inventory is still in storage, including the material needed for his jobI don't remember
being short with him, but if I was, I apologizeI did send him a text some time ago with some explanationSince it didn't come back to me as being a land line, I assumed he received it and had no more questionsWe haven't forgotten about his project, although I still am not sure when things will finished
