Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2016/02/12) */
Contact Name and Title: David W[redacted] owner
Contact Phone: [redacted]
Contact Email: [redacted]@northstate.net
The 1996 Dodge Carvan was brought in my shop in Dec 2013 with complaints of slipping in the transmission. At that time we pulled...

hers and replace it with an rebuilt transmission. Ms [redacted] pick it up on Dec 5 2013 at that time she was given an 1 year or 12,000 mile warranty the cost of the replacement was $1737.60. Ms. [redacted] did bring the car back with some complaints upon our finds the trouble wasn't with the transmission but the engine. It was miss firing! At this time I recommended her to take it somewhere else that works on engines.
*The next time she return to our shop was in Aug 2015 at that time the warranty was 8 months out. Which I spoke with Ms. [redacted] that there was an electric part that was bad and we replaced it for only the cost of the part, there was no labor charged! The part was replace at the cost of $175.00 a check was written at that time check #[redacted].
*The next time she brought it complaining about the check engine light being on, which it was this is an indication of
electric issues. I stated to Ms.[redacted] if I had to drop the transmission I would fix at no cost of parts but I would have to charge $300.00 for labor. After this complaint she left.
* Until Jan 2016 Ms.[redacted] return very upset yelling and angry about her service.'Ms [redacted] was out of control with her attitude that day! She left driving the 1996 Dodge Caravan.
I was willing to help her out even when the warranty was out
for the cost of my labor this was at least I could do for
her. I alway stand behind our work and treat my customer with the respect that I wanted to be treated with. I deeply regret the issues she has had and has always been willing to work with her.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2016/02/25) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept this response from Mr. W[redacted] as the majority of his recounting of the situation is incorrect! The most important part is the fact he stated he would charge only $300 for labor to drop the transmission which is incorrect. I have it written in my personal notes that I have kept through this situation, he would charge me $700 labor to drop the transmission PLUS additional cost to fix it. I distinctly remember this because, first off I went into tears, second he stated nonchantly "I can't not pay my guys." I told him I did not have $700 and he did not offer anything else at this point and I left as there was no resolution that he was willing to make. In addition to this I had a witness with me that can verify the price that Mr. W[redacted] stated along with his statement. Again as I stated there are many incorrect recounts of this situation by Mr. W[redacted], the most important I already stated, in addition to the pricing there were dates he missed that I took the van back to him. I took the van back to him in 11/5/2014, the warranty still active, I wanted Mr. W[redacted] to check the van as it was slipping and it was near expiration. He ran tests and said everything was fine. The van was not fine as these problems had increased and he blamed the engine which was later confirmed by my regular mechanic [redacted] from [redacted] that my van was electronically and mechanically sound in contrary to what Mr. W[redacted] had diagnosed as the problem. I have other dates that Mr. W[redacted] failed to mention but in regards to this response he has made, it is unacceptable.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2016/03/28) */
Responding to Ms [redacted] last dispute: I'm sorry she feels that I gave incorrect information. I have Aways stood behind our work and are still willing to pull the transmission for the amount of $300. 00 just as I quoted before.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2016/04/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I'm sure Mr. D[redacted] means well with his proposition of pulling the transmission for $300 that he supposedly quoted to me, however there is a problem with this. The transmission has been officially diagnosed as non-repairable and needs to be replaced. Unless Mr. D[redacted] is willing to replace my transmission for the price of $300, and nothing more, then his proposal is null and void because pulling it to see what is wrong with it is meaningless at this point as it needs to be replaced. Worse still, my trust in Mr. D[redacted]'s credibility and work ethic has been utterly shaken and I do not trust him to work on my van any further. In conclusion I do not accept this response from Mr. D[redacted], for the reasons of the fact $300 is NOT going to fix my van at this point, second the price of $300 was NEVER quoted to me in the first place, and more importantly I do not trust Mr. D[redacted] to work on my van any further.
