Frisco Self Storage Reviews (%countItem)

I have video and pictures of my entire order on December 23rd, 2019. I rented a U-Haul truck, and then I went to access my storage unit, but was denied access multiple times, even though I had a zero balance. Once I was finally able to get to my unit, the employee (Patricia) came to harass me about the double doors being open. I used these doors many times before, and seen other patrons use them as well. Patricia or whatever her name is, rudely demanded that I close them and stop using them. I told her, she could close the doors, and that's when she called the police and reported vandalism to the property. Three Frisco PD arrived and asked me and my friend for our ID. We cooperated and explained the amenities and the door 'drama'. They said there was no crime committed and went to speak with the employees. Soon after Sherry and 'Patricia? came back and harassed us, verbally taunting me and my helper for two hours. I had every right to access my unit without confrontation or harassment. Sherry later walked past me trying to make contact with my body, but I dodged her so she wouldn't have to make another false report to the police. This situation caused me stress, anxiety, and financial hardships two days before Christmas. I'm just thankful the police were understanding and no brutality took place, since I am a person of ethnic background. I'm a single mom and all I wanted was access my Christmas tree decor and to start moving items to a different unit. I have also been hung up on and yelled at on the phone, whenever I had to make payments with Sherry. What a nightmare!

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I would like a refund to my December rent. I was not allowed full and free access until December 31st. I hurt my back and chest trying to move items, because I was not allowed to contract additional help in fear of losing all access once I left the property. I also did not pay monies to be harassed and humiliated by the employees. I would like an apology for this undue stress and harassment on December 23rd, 2019. I recorded video and pictures of the entire order, I have video and pics.

Frisco Self Storage Response • Jan 17, 2020

On XX-X-XX we started the auction process on this tenant. She was 32 days past due on her account. I was able to reach her on 12-20. She advised she did not have all the money so I offered her what our company calls an accord and satisfaction. This allows a severely delinquent tenant to make a 80% payment and move out with stipulations on access to the facility. This form voids the lease agreement. The customer filing report paid the $380 (80% of full amount due) and was told she would have limited access and would have to be completely moved out by the 31st of December. On XX-XX-XX the customer texted my phone saying she could not access the gate or building. I explained I would have manager fix code so she could access this was at 5:39 PM. She was aware she was limited to only have access during normal business hours per our signed agreement (accord and satisfaction) Normal Business hours are Monday-Friday 930am-6pm and Saturday 8am-5pm. The customer started to move and when our manager came out at 6PM to ask her to leave she had removed our bay doors off the track and placed them against the window panes. These doors are our first line of security and no one has approval to remove. The doors can be removed as required by the City of Frisco for Fire Safety Prevention. I asked our manager to let me speak with customer as I had built a rapport with her. I asked her to replace doors and she told the manager she can do it and proceeded to argue with both the manager and I. I asked my manager to walk out of the facility. Once outside I asked her to call the police as I was worried the doors would accidentally fall costing us to replace the glass bay doors and also leaving our facility open and unsecured overnight. The police were called at which time she replaced doors before police arrived. The police told us the door was back on and we could not ask her to leave per her lease agreement with us, and this was a civil matter. The police left and the customer took the doors back off. At which time our general manager showed to make sure the doors were secure once the customer was done moving her stuff out of the unit. I was on the phone with general manager the full-time she was there. The customer tried several times to argue and threaten our GM while I was on the phone. I asked her to not respond and allow her to remove her items. Customer proceeded to take pictures our of GM and has since written over 15 reviews via google and now file an inaccurate complaint with Revdex.com. She would have had the allotted time to move her belongings under the agreement to vacate but only during business hours. I believe we have gone above and beyond to accommodate all her needs and even allowing her to make her a special deal to avoid the sale of her belongings. I have specifically have spoken with her several times to help her through all her struggles with the year she has been storing with us.
