Frog Hollow Marina Reviews (2)

I am sending all receipts again and I feel that Frog Hollow marina is not telling all the details and the truth about the costs associated with my boat. The 3rd marina had to fix the carbs that were fine until Frog Hollow messed with them as you can see on the *** marina receipt. Ed didn't mention how much they charged me to just clean the carbs and adjust them and a half hours labor so almost $right there. Then *** had to charge me another $to fix there messing up my carbs. Not sure if there is anything I or you can do to get my money back for the aftermarket parts I ordered and lost $and then *** had to replace all those parts again for $plus dollars. Please try and figure out a way to resolve this issue. thank you, *** ***

Mr. [redacted] brought his 1990 [redacted] motor to our marina for repairs on May 26, 2016. Please understand that the motor is 26 years old, therefore most factory parts from [redacted] are no longer  available.Mr. [redacted] had this motor at [redacted] in [redacted] for over 2 months and they...

could not fix the engine. [redacted]'s has been in the marina business for over 25 years and has a fine reputation. But boat motors like all motors are a complex piece of equipment, you might have to try 10 things before you fix the original problem. That's not to say that the 10 things you tried or repaired first were a waste.  Mr. [redacted] then brought his boat to our marina to fix the problem that [redacted]'s could not fix. We replaced the pitot tube for the speedo and put a new tachometer on that the customer asked us to do and replaced the fuel filter thinking that was the problem of what his original complaint was, which he stated was that it loses power when opening up and will not plane. We charged Mr. [redacted] $124.60 for parts, $98.10 of which was for the tach. We spent a lot of time in the water with this boat both hooked up to the computer and running up and down canal trying to figure his problem out. When we decided the problem was an electrical one and the parts for the motor were no longer available thru our supplier Mr. [redacted] said he would find aftermarket parts on the web and bring to us to put on. We informed Mr. [redacted] that we do not guarantee parts bought by the customer and brought to us to put on the motor. We stated that statement on the invoice also. Mr. [redacted] then took his boat to [redacted] Marine to be repaired. [redacted] Marine then changed out most or all of the parts Mr. [redacted] bought on the web himself that we installed for him. Obviously the aftermarket parts that Mr. [redacted] bought were not good parts and that tells the story. Frog Hollow Marina has been operating this for over 5 years with a [redacted] certified mechanic who has over 25 years experience both with us and the previous owners under the name [redacted]'s Marina. I feel no obligation to Mr. [redacted]. We did offer to take another look at his motor, beyond that I feel Frog Hollow Marina did all it could do to fix Mr. [redacted]'s motor. Thank You, Edward W.
