My daughters had gone to [redacted] for some time..things seemed fine. Until more and more my girls told me after each visit how rude the hygienist Laura was to them in back and how rough she was on their teeth. I initially brushed this off as kids being kids. However, after one of our last visits my daughter kept complaining how rough the hygienist was and now she has a ridge/rough spot on her front tooth. So when we recently went in for our check up I mentioned it to the dental assistant to have the dentist look at it. A little while later [redacted] came out and told me that was plastic/glue left on from her braces. When we were on our way home my girls told me how the hygienist came up to her and said "where is this ridge, there's nothing there" without even looking at it yet. Then when she finally did she saw what she meant and buffed if off rather roughly. I still don't believe it was glue on her teeth since she had her braces off for a year and never felt anything until after that cleaning by the hygienist. Then they told me how nice the assistants were to them, complimenting them on their beautiful teeth/smile, talking nice, etc.. then the hygienist came by them and told them how "awful their teeth were". I also, am a believer in not having too many dental xrays. Reading articles, watching health shows, etc.. say their are not necessary and can lead to head and neck cancer. So I have told them only if their is a tooth they are concerned about. Well I guess both the dentist and hygienist were mocking me in back about that to my girls. Why they didn't just talk to me, don't know. So a few weeks later I received my insurance statement and I noticed a bill for a Panorex xray. I asked my daughter if she had one done and why. She said no. She knows what they are because she had them for her wisdom teeth and braces. So I called the office and the manager told me "wow tell your daughter good catch". Claimed it was an automatic thing put in by billing. So I asked her to fix it with the insurance company so when she may need one they will cover it. I also explained to her my concerns on the treatment my daughters were getting and the behavior of the hygienist. I even said I was afraid to say anything as they may take it out on my girls. She promised me no and would talk to her. So my older daughter needed a filling and a day before that appointment I received a call to call their office and her appointment was cancelled. Didn't say to reschedule or anything. So I called and they had me talk to the manager who told me I would be receiving a certified letter in the mail but they are transferring both of my daughters care. Claimed they were old enough to move on. I said shouldn't the [redacted] complete care first and finish the filling? they claimed no. I said is this because I caught your billing error or complained about the behavior? they claimed no it's their age. Funny though why my younger daughter? [redacted] would never speak to me. I said this speaks volumes on their standard of quality of care and services. One would think the dentist would call and explain things or tell me she spoke to her hygienist, etc.. I found out this is an ethical violation to not complete treatment. I just want others to be very wary of this place. the billing seems shady, and to have a dentist who specializes in children choose to back her rude and rough hygienist over the care or concerns of patients/parents is questionable to say the least. Their are many other dentists out there so look around for a more caring and ethical one. When talking to others I found some one who also experienced this with them.
