breeding program. Although this is our effort, it does not guarantee a perfect outcome. It is regrettable, yet inevitable, when dealing with Mother Nature that a puppy can be born that is not perfect. A contract signed by [redacted] is in place to refer to in situations such as this, which clearly states that a consumer initiated veterinary health inspection is to take place within the first 72 hours after a puppy goes home. At that time, if there are health concerns, a puppy may be returned for a full refund or replacement. This option was available to but not exercised by [redacted]. At the time of purchase, a three-generation pedigree detailing [redacted]’s puppy’s lineage was provided. This contained all of the information [redacted] needed to research his puppy’s blood lines. On 11/10/2017, [redacted] contacted me wanting information on where the mother of his puppy was purchased. I immediately provided the phone number for [redacted], my sole contact for the purchase of his puppy’s mother. It is not uncommon for breeders in the U.S. to go through a middleman in the U.S. or abroad to purchase a dog since these people have long standing relationships with kennels in Europe. These kennels have access to high quality dogs for sale worldwide and gives us an opportunity to import new bloodlines into our breeding programs that are not available in the U.S. The mother of [redacted]’s puppy was purchased from a highly reputable kennel in Europe with the same high standards in mind that we have for every single dog we bring into our breeding program. Our effort will always be to improve this noble breed and for the satisfaction of our customers. We have been breeding and training quality German Shepherds for over 13 years. When one has been in business as long as this, one is bound to encounter a disgruntled customer. The bottom line is we know exactly where our breeding dogs come from. This is our responsibility and we take it seriously. Each dog has an official, traceable lineage. Ownership of each dog is tracked on the back of the dog’s pedigree and stamped by an official in the country of registry.
