The first price of $235 was for a single part for you to fix it yourself. I advised you that due to liability reasons you should have a certified professional install. Not a handy man, as yourself. Second the $1000 was for the liner only for you again wanted to install yourself. This was all in discussion at the job that day off the top of my head, and for you not to hold me to that it was just a ballpark number. After you received our written work proposal would've been a good time to disagree , but you did not. You proceeded to write the $1000 deposit. and knew at that time what the written price was going to be ? I did give him the difference in price of the liners. And for the personal opinions of my character you best be careful unless you wish to be sued for declamation of character. We have a 5 star rating and wish to keep it that way. Upon first looking at the job, his verbal estimate for $235 was for him to do the whole job, including the inspection, if he could use a piece of liner he thought he had at the shop—if he didn’t have to order anything. I asked him to confirm this again and he did. But after trying almost a week to get ahold of him, he finally responded he did not have a piece long enough, that he would have to order it and to do the job I would be “looking at $1000.” To get the part would take at least a week. With closing approaching fast, I got a price for a flexible liner from a local store for $550 that I could pick up immediately and install myself with their instructions. And he agreed to inspect it, and if well done, give me a clean bill of health to show the buyers. Only after the buyers objected, was I forced to take him up on his $1000 offer, hoping he would discount it for me, having already removed the stove and old liner. By then closing was a week away! I asked him to write down the estimate. He responded with an estimate for $1950! He explained this was because he would only install the more expensive solid liner which was the only acceptable kind in his opinion, and besides he noticed the flue had a bend in it so it would cost more. Also, he apologized, because we lived in [redacted], the price was higher. He had me around a barrel and took full advantage of it! The rest of the story is outlined in my initial complaint. And they left my white fireplace covered with black finger prints! Sloppy and unethical! Stay away from Eanes Chimney Sweep.

Customer called in May about a cap that needed to be put on the chimney. I informed customer that the Owner/operated passed away in March, and I had to close down the business until I could hire a worthy employee. I WILL get the cap put on for the customer as soon as possible.
