Revdex.com: I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I researched what could have caused my replacement screen to "spontaneously" crackThere were a number of online discussion forums and blogs indicating that some replacement screens are thinner, or un-tempered, or both causing them to break much easierSimilarly, I found out that improperly installed glass causing the screen to take on too much stress and cause it to break under useIn any of these situations, there would never be any way for a customer like me to be able to know for sure what happenedThe only thing I can say for certain is that this replacement screen broke much easier than any original [redacted] part I have owned in the pastIn fact, I've had every generation of the [redacted] since the 2G (2007) and never experienced something like this beforeI can only say that if an [redacted] replacement screen were somehow inferior, I would never be able to tell the difference. Also, you'll see from the attached screen grabs that Fruit Fixed is making marketing claims online that they have "original" or "genuine" partsHowever the waiver I signed (also attached for quick reference) clearly states that Fruit Fixed is NOT AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE DEALERThe sad truth is that while I'm sure Fruit Fixed would love to offer "genuine" replacement parts, there is just no way of getting them (outside of being an Apple authorized service center)That leaves Fruit Fixed with a few different choicesThe dominant two are OEM and aftermarket, again neither one is a "genuine" or "100% original part as claimed by Fruit FixedFurthermore, Fruit Fixed is making online claims that they have a "lifetime warranty on all labor." If the replacement screen on my [redacted] was improperly installed by Fruit Fixed, that could also cause the replacement screen to fail under use. Thanks you for your interest in time in helping me resolve this issue, and my best wishes to Fruit Fixed on their future success Regards, [redacted] l [redacted]

Dear Revdex.com Representative,

We have his original signed waiver form from July 26, that outlines all of our policies and warranty information clearly stating this is something we do not warrant. Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I researched what could have caused my replacement screen to "spontaneously" crack. There were a number of online discussion forums and blogs indicating that some replacement screens are thinner, or un-tempered, or both causing them to break much easier. Similarly, I found out that improperly installed glass causing the screen to take on too much stress and cause it to break under normal use. In any of these situations, there would never be any way for a customer like me to be able to know for sure what happened. The only thing I can say for certain is that this replacement screen broke much easier than any original [redacted] part I have owned in the past. In fact, I've had every generation of the [redacted] since the 2G (2007) and never experienced something like this before. I can only say that if an [redacted] replacement screen were somehow inferior, I would never be able to tell the difference. Also, you'll see from the attached screen grabs that Fruit Fixed is making marketing claims online that they have "original" or "genuine" parts. However the waiver I signed (also attached for quick reference) clearly states that Fruit Fixed is NOT AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE DEALER. The sad truth is that while I'm sure Fruit Fixed would love to offer "genuine" replacement parts, there is just no way of getting them (outside of being an Apple authorized service center). That leaves Fruit Fixed with a few different choices. The dominant two are OEM and aftermarket, again neither one is a "genuine" or "100% original part as claimed by Fruit Fixed. Furthermore, Fruit Fixed is making online claims that they have a "lifetime warranty on all labor." If the replacement screen on my [redacted] was improperly installed by Fruit Fixed, that could also cause the replacement screen to fail under normal use. Thanks you for your interest in time in helping me resolve this issue, and my best wishes to Fruit Fixed on their future success.

Dear Revdex.com Representative,My name is Justin [redacted] and I own Fruit Fixed in Carytown/Richmond, VA. I recently received notice that a complaint was filed against my business by [redacted] and I would like to clarify what happened in regards to his experience. Michael came into our store...

with a cracked [redacted] 5 after having had the screen repaired by us in July. We absolutely warrant any and all defective parts, but unfortunately this was not a defective part. Cracks on a phone screen cannot just happen, an outside force has to be applied in order to cause a screen to do so. Michael made my employee and other customers uncomfortable by yelling. My employee Jae diffused the situation and he left the store. Jae immediately called me after Mr. [redacted] left the store. I got Jae to give me Mr. [redacted]'s phone number so that I could follow up with him, in hopes that he had calmed down. I offered Mr. [redacted] a free repair in order to diffuse the situation (which is not a standard practice according to our warranty), but he would not clearly accept that as a resolution. Our conversation lasted a few minutes and through out it I offered a free repair multiple times and explained how a screen cannot simply crack without an outside force causing it (extreme heat in a car like he admitted to, a drop, etc), but Mr. [redacted] kept saying my employee should've simply given the repair for free in store. By cracking his screen, knowingly or unknowingly, that is the ONLY issue we do not warrant. It would be like an auto collision repair shop warranting future accidents: their business would cease to exist. The offer of a free screen repair still stands, but I don't expect my employees to be bullied by anyone. Of the 400+ reviews we have online, this is only our 5th non-5 star review. The quality of our parts, workmanship and customer service is unparalleled and we strive everyday to help people find the positive in what is ultimately a negative experience of breaking a phone or tablet. We understand the situation he was in and it's our hope to only see a customer once, but inevitably people come back because accidents happen. We're always willing to help customers in situations that fall out of our standard warranty, but his actions in store prevented us from doing so. We have his original signed waiver form from July 26, 2015 that outlines all of our policies and warranty information clearly stating this is something we do not warrant. In summation, I also have cloud surveillance audio/video storage that I can share with the Revdex.com in which Mr. [redacted]’s actions in store are on clear display. This was unlike any other experience we’ve ever had to deal with.Regards,Justin D. [redacted]Fruit Fixed, [email protected]
