When *** ***; our estimator; 1st came out he gave Mr*** a price on a generator repair/service for $385.00; adding a receptacle, CAT 5, speaker wire, above the fire place for $495.00; running power and CATto downstairs TV for $285.00; running speaker wires to downstairs TV for $210.00; and
running a CAT to master TV for $185.00. Mr*** called in and stated that he only wanted the $and $work done so he revised the proposal per Mr. ***'s request; as you can see from attached proposals. We believe that the switch that the customer is referring to is a box that the CAT line we ran plugs into; we do not provide these. When the customer mentioned the speaker wires to our electrician that was on site for the downstairs television, he offered to run them for the customer at an additional charge; change order; and the customer refused. This job took a total of hours from the time that our electrician left the shop until the time that the crew got back and would have cost $1,had we been doing this job on a time and material basis, not to mention the $in material costs. As far as the drywall damage is concerned, the proposal plainly states that all drywall repairs are to be done by others. The proposal price was $780.00, yet the customer paid $702.00; a 10% discount. All the work that was on the proposal was completed as stated. We believe this is a more than fair bill

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I spoke with [redacted] before the electricians came as he noted on the estimate that the basement tv was to be wired for HDMI and ethernet. However, when we spoke, we specifically talked about wiring both tv's the same exact way. He agreed and just said the estimate was "short hand." Further, I explained this to the electrician that came out and he said that was fine and he understood. He told me the basement tv would be less expensive because they were doing most of the labor/work on the first floor and pulling the proper wires for the basement would be included.Again, I spoke with [redacted] and asked for the 10% discount which he agreed to on the phone. Not sure why the business is bringing this up? And, they can claim poverty by throwing out how much it should have cost but to me, those are bogus numbers. They estimated me what it would cost them to do a job and I'm sure there was a profit included. So, to now say it should have cost over $1,000 is just plain senseless. As for the switch, I asked for 4 ethernet lines to be run to the tv. They ran 4 to the first floor tv but only one ethernet to the basement. Then he told me to buy a switch, at my expense. That is not what was agreed to and it doesn't really matter if they sell switches or not. That is irrelevant. I shouldn't have had to buy a switch if they did their job properly. As for the drywall damage, this estimate does state that damage can occur but I should also be notified before any cuts into the drywall are made. I was home at the time so there is no excuse for not being informed at the time they cut drywall. Clearly, this is the type of company where you need to have them notate EVERYTHING as you cannot accept their word as good. I made a mistake in this regard but I would like other users to avoid my mistake.
