This [redacted] was sold with fresh PA safety and emissions inspection. The car was purchased AS IS due to the fact it would not qualify for a warranty because it was sold for less than $2,000. When we bought the car from auction it needed some small repairs which were done before... inspection. The customers son looked at the car several weeks earlier and left a deposit on it. He came back two weeks later and left more money. The car was sitting for about three weeks from the initial deposit. Due to sitting the rear tires did lose some air and the battery was weak from not being run. The customer showed up without notice on a Tuesday afternoon to pick up the car. The customer started complaining about the tires and battery and we told her it does happen when vehicles sit for an extended period of time. We took the car to our shop and replaced the rear tires which did not have to be done but we did to satisfy the customer. While it was there we replaced the battery with a good used one and replaced both belts on the engine. We returned the car to the customer then she complained about a window not working on it. She asked if I could give her a warranty instead of fixing the window which I couldn't because the car did not qualify for a warranty due to the price was less than $2000. I told her I would take another $100 off for the window and she said that was fine. She never once asked me about a refund while I was there but I did come in late from the auction. So to satisfy her we replaced the belts, Rear tires and battery and she was fine with that. I personally drove the car along with several other people here and the transmission and clutch functioned properly. When the customers son drove off in the car we could tell he was not familiar with driving a manual transmission. As he pulled out he was slipping the clutch pretty bad and my employee and I looked at each other and said that clutch won't last long if he drives it like that. When the father called us he was very rude with me on the phone. I offered to help with it and he didn't want to hear anything. After a long discussion in which the father kept trying to twist words on me I offered him the following deal. I told him if he gets the vehicle towed to my shop we will take it apart at no cost. If there was something broken in the transmission we would buy the car back. If there was evidence of the clutch being burned up from an inexperienced driver he would be responsible. I never heard back after I made that offer which I thought was more than fair. About two days later I received an email from the mother(see attachment) which stated that she logged a complaint with the BBB and the PA attorney general. I can't do more than what I offered to do by looking at the vehicle and seeing what the problem is. Please see the attachments concerning this deal. Thank you, Thomas N***
