To Whom It May Concern,
I am in receipt of your letter Re case # XXXXXXXX and wish to respond. Mr. [redacted] won a rifle at a dinner sponsored by the Outdoor Sportsmen's Coalition of California given on Friday June 26, 2015. During the dinner Mr. [redacted] along with all of the other winners, were notified that the first day available for the beginning of the necessary Federal and State paperwork to be completed was Tuesday June 30, 2015. Mr. [redacted] came into the store on Saturday June 27, 2015, fully three days before the date when we would be able to begin the process. Mr. [redacted] demanded that we provide him with his "pre-paid" rifle. Mr. [redacted] didn't pre-pay for anything, he bought a raffle ticket and his ticket was successfully drawn, (unfortunately for those involved he was the lucky winner). When my employee informed him that the paperwork could only be started on June 30, after the rifle had been received into our books he told my employee "you are so disorganized" and "that's why the Outdoor Sportsmen are not going to use you anymore". We explained to Mr. [redacted] that contrary to his wishes to take his "pre-paid rifle" home with him immediately, both Federal and State law require a background check to be completed. In California this process takes 10 days and is unavoidable.
Mr. [redacted] then started a campaign on our Face book page attempting to disparage us for not following his wishes in violating Federal and State law by immediately providing his "pre-paid rifle". His posts elicited a response from the leadership of the OSCC who asked us to take his posts off our page.
On Tuesday June 30, 2015 we spoke to Mr. [redacted] by phone. During that call we once again explained to Mr. [redacted] that a background check must be completed, his winning the "pre-paid rifle" did not and still does not preclude him from that process. We also informed him that because of the distance involved we would be happy to send the rifle to a dealer of his choice for him to complete the process. Mr. [redacted] was happy with that option until he was informed that he would be required to pay the shipping costs. Unfortunately Mr. [redacted] hasn't understood we are just the facilitator of the transfer, nothing more. The firearms are owned by the Outdoor Sportsmen's Coalition and we provide the transfer as a service. Our monetary gain in the transaction is $10 of which I pay my employee $11.
Because of Mr. [redacted]'s flippant attitude towards the law in his demand to avoid the 10 day wait, because I had tired of his constant badgering and aggressive attitude and because quite frankly I wanted him to be someone else's problem, I paid the shipping and sent the rifle to another FFL in his area. I'm glad to not have Mr. [redacted] return to my store or telephone us and continually badger my employees. Throughout our history with the OSCC we haven't had a problem, until now and the financial loss on this one incident makes me question our continued support of non profits such as this.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this business is a minefield of workplace bullying. Workplace bullying is being perpetrated against both customers and employees who are being insulted and abused by an overbearing loudmouth on their sales floor.
The only discourtesy in view is the discourteous fraud and deceit of their protected-class workplace bully.
It is unfortunate that the owner of this business has decided to circle the wagons (with made up spin) to enable, aid and abet workplace bullying.
It is unfortunate that this store is too cheap (and too deep in denial) to have the troubling matter of workplace bullying investigated and mitigated by an independent consultant.
