Revdex.com:At this time, I have not been contacted by Fuller Builders Inc regarding complaint ID [redacted].This comes as no surprise but [redacted]s lack of a responsible resolve just serves to reinforce the business morality of the company...He has no respect for his customers, his sub contractors or his reputation within the communityBUYER BEWARE !Sincerely,[redacted]

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

First and foremost, thank you to the Revdex.com for providing a forum where the consumer can publicly address an issue that might otherwise go unnoticed..Consumers will be able to search fro FULLER BUILDERS here through your site and will be made aware of potential problems they could have when contracting this GC.I am disappointed in [redacted]'s response, but, certainly not surprised since while he claims to take responsibility, he has continually put the blame everywhere else, on everyone else, except himself hired as the GC.. who IS the ultimate person in charge of overseeing everything relating to a specific job, that is what he gets paid to do..When a consumer is justified in various complaints, by his own admission, after going back to a job on a regular basis over a year's time to "fix " issues and nothing gets resolved, it would be prudent for that GC just to say" I am sorry you are so dissatisfied, please call someone else of your choosing and send me the bill"...[redacted] never once gave me that opportunity..he continually came back HIMSELF to do the repairs...[redacted] mentions how satisfied I was with the job, with my "punch list" and my paying in full...what he purposely fails to mention is the true fact that I fired him mid way through the job, when I asked him to leave my home because the job was going so badly..At that time I refused to pay him the remaining $40,000.00 since the work was so badly...[redacted] pleaded with me that he would "get it done right" this time... at that same time, I had sub contractors coming into my private office telling me they had not been paid by [redacted] so I felt compelled to pay the balance and give him another chance..trusting all subs would be paid. The sad part was, since it was around the holidays, I knew a lot of these subs and knew first hand they needed this money for their own holidays with their own families, so I paid [redacted] but he was was very slow to compensate these subs for their work, work already done.I later found out, after having 4 other contractors review this job, most of these subs have refused working for [redacted] since he was negligent in paying subs in a timely manner, he was asking for less quality work from them to save money, plus they also told me when they went back on the job, [redacted]'s elder father, his sister, his sister in law, his brother in law and church friends had "worked overed" their work..painting, plastering, trim, etc.
I further mention, a negligent flooding of my basement, broken sinks that were to be reused, expensive Spanish tile, "discarded" when it was needed to replace broken tiles, double drilled holes in my kitchen cabinets, inferior kitchen counter quartz, which cost me additional $5000.00 above and beyond the job contract, frozen pipes,(due to lack of insulation) bad carpentry, disgraceful lumpy sheetrocking..and more, all done AFTER the contract was signed with a promise made for a beautiful renovation that never came about..Clearly, [redacted] does not have the same respect to do top quality work for his customers as other contractors have displayed working in my home, He obviously will not rectify the poor workmanship except to do it all himself with the same crew that messed it all up in the first place..He tried to cut money corners wherever he could, at my expense..The very fact that [redacted] states that I was unhappy with the workmanship and that I texted to him "I would get the work corrected at a later time" is a TOTAL DISGRACE to him as a GC...that is acceptable to him ?I have had a most horrible year of leaks, bad workmanship and calls to get help and make my home safe and secure again. This is all so disturbing to me,  I have no choice except to pursue other means when it could have been settled amicable simply by [redacted] telling me to get it done right and have the bill sent to him.[redacted] knows all the issues he left behind, he readily admits his mistakes, but I have had to suffer through this last year because of them..I have also since been made aware of tow other consumers who were not happy with [redacted]'s jobs along with one consumer who has taken legal action against his company.  Thank you, Revdex.com for allowing these issues to become public record, and now that I have been given advice as to how to proceed through Consumer affairs and other means, publicly, I can decide where to go from here.
In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Review: I paid this contractor approximately $100,000.00 in full to renovate my home in November 2013..I have lived in my home for approximately 30 years with out any structural or major construction issues..since this contractor renovated my home, I have had so many problems with shoddy work that was done..he readily admits "I know this was a bad job"..I have given him many opportunities to come back, correct the issues,he does so, but then he corrects the work himself with more shoddy work..I have had major leaks in my ceiling, wet walls since this renovation where he totally messed up the structural integrity(roof line)of the area he renovated...this area also froze up, freezing the shower, toilet, faucet, laundry room area..the ceilings, walls are very badly taped /sheet rocked, painted by his family and friends..there are gaps in the storm doors (which I paid a lot of money for separately)the master bathroom shower before it was frozen leaks from poor silicone caulking job..there is poor insulation through out the renovation area as proven by this freeze of water lines in there..the overall finished job is a nightmare with nails protruding, cracks, bad lining up of corners, ceiling, etc. I have had him back to redo the ceiling in the master bedroom THREE separate times with the job still terrible..there are many aspects to this renovation that are below par, shoddy work..I have had multiple people in the trades since look the job over and have commented to me how unacceptable this work is..I need to correct this poor work, I cannot afford to lay out any more money, that I honestly do not have,to pay for work that was never done properly in the first place..I have heard thru mutual acquaintances that this contractor told people in this area that his "family spent the summer in Japan"-that "his family also enjoyed an extended holiday vacation" because "all the money he made last year"-that being the case,it is not unreasonable for me to collect back what is needed to correct thisDesired Settlement: I am looking for $40K paid directly to me so I can hire other contractors/subs to come in and correct all these serious issues which have totally interrupted my life with grief this last year-i trusted what he promised to deliver to me,paid him promptly, gave him many opportunities to "make it right",he just kept complicating matters w/more excuses, poor workmanship-i have photographs, emails, texts from him admitting all the mistakes..I will not go"public"or legal with these if he steps up

Business

Response:

The business has responded. Please see below: I was hired by [redacted] in the year 2013 to perform a renovation to her home which was completed under contract. All parties that were hired to work on her job were established local contractors, several of whom [redacted] knows personally and whom she has hired before. Some of these contractors are related to me and others are considered friends but they are people who have been in the construction industry for several years. During the project, there were some things that she was unhappy with which were immediately addressed. Regular inspections were made by the City of Port Jervis Building Inspector including framing, insulation and sheetrock, etc. No structural or major construction issues were present. Towards the end of the project, [redacted] had a “punch-list” of items to be corrected which were addressed. The job was accepted, we received a certificate of occupancy and I was paid in full. In the several months following the completion of the job, [redacted] hired me to do some additional work on her home which was completed, accepted by her and I was again paid in full. Besides some complaints about the final sheetrock and paint which she said she would accept and possibly address on her own at a later time, I was under the impression that [redacted] was satisfied with the job. I do not feel that the work is “shoddy” or is poor workmanship. I was notified by [redacted] of a leak in her roof last winter. The construction I performed on her home did not change her roof in any way. However, I went to investigate the leak and attempted to repair it the best I could at that time with snow still on the roof. I encouraged [redacted] to reach out to the contractor who originally performed the roofing construction to see if he could do something to prevent another leak. I do not believe any improvements were made to the roof and unfortunately, the leak appeared again this winter. Along with the leak, due to the record cold we have had, the pipes in her bathroom froze. After I had gone out to try to remedy the situation, I heard that it happened again from [redacted] via text. This time, [redacted], clearly frustrated, will not allow me back into her home so I am not able to determine the cause or offer a repair. If given the opportunity, I will always stand by my work and will perform repairs that are necessary under warranty. Please note that I am willing to comply with the terms of my contract and address warranty and/or insurance issues as they appear. As for other statements made in the complaint regarding a “summer in Japan” or having an “extended holiday vacation” because of “all the money made last year”, they are simply not true.
