Complaint I feel I owe nothing due to them failing to file insurance on time, when they would of paid something, and they're lack of returning my phone calls.7/13/13 I went to dentist for a root canal gone bad. I presented my 2 insurance cards. I was told "with 2 insurances you shouldn't owe anything" No bill came until 10/2014 15 MONTHS later. After this long I felt that I must have no balance. In researching I found out 1 insurance paid nothing due to claim not being filed within 12 months. Now it was to late for me to contact insurance to have them pay. I called dental office & told them the facts. They seemed sympathetic to my case but said they had "billing & software issues". They said they'd call me back "in a day or two" I got no call & once again I thought matter was settled. 8/15 TEN MORE MONTHS later I get another bill. I called office once again on Friday 9/25/15 & was again told about their billing & software issues. Their billing & software issues are they're problem not mine. I was PROMISED someone would call me on Monday 9/28/15. As of this writing on 11/02/15 I still have not heard from them. I'm done calling!!Desired SettlementI am seeking a zero balance with a statement reflecting the same. This is based on them not filing insurance on time. They would of paid something. Also based on their lack of returning my phone calls when they promised they would.Final Consumer Response

Billed for sleeping in a dental chair.I was referred to Fuller Endodontics by my regular dentist for a second opinion on a tooth that had already been given a root canal. When I arrived, I waited in a back room for about an hour, and actually fell asleep in the chair. When [redacted] arrived, he tapped on my tooth with the blunt end of an instrument and asked if it hurt. I said no--the same answer I gave in the questionnaire I filled out online prior to my appointment. He said he'd have to talk with my regular dentist and I left after spending less than 5 minutes with the actual dentist.I went to check out in the lobby and was told I would not be charged for the appointment because the doctor did not have to work on the tooth at all.One month later, my insurance was billed over $200 and I have to pay some out of pocket, too. I will pay it because I don't want to hurt my credit, but if I ever need a root canal I'll ask my regular dentist to do it. If it costs $200 to have my tooth tapped a few times (and just a few minutes of time with the dentist), I would hate to see a bill for some actual dental work...Desired SettlementI understand they are not a charity, and if I actually received more than a tap and an "I'm not sure," I wouldn't be upset. I've paid much more for dental work in the past, but the doctor actually worked on a tooth/provided a service.I don't feel I should be charged for what occurred at the consult.Business Response We were hurt, but most of all so sorry when we read this complaint. On Feb.29 our office contacted the patient who wrote the letter and our sincere apology was accepted by our patient. He even went so far as to say he would retract his complaint. This is the reason we did not respond to the letter sooner. We have since found out you can not retract your complaint. We were encouraged by the Revdex.com to write a letter in response. Our office only wants the very best for our patients. We don't just treat teeth we treat people. Sincerely Fullmer Endodontics

My husband was referred to Fullmer Endodontics from [redacted] for a root canal. Dr.Fullmer called me to schedule an appointment for my husband. At that time I asked how much the procedure would cost and was told they would have to call his insurance company and get the amount they would cover and make sure there was enough benefit left to cover amount. I expressed to the lady that if it cost to much my husband would just get the tooth pulled because we are on a very tight budget. She said she understood and would make sure to get an exact amount for me before we proceeded with even making an appointment. I called Fullmer Endodontics 2 days later and spoke to the same lady who said yes she spoke to our insurance company and all we would need to pay was $250. And it would need to be paid when my husband came in for the appointment. She specifically said this would be the only cost and we would not be billed anything later. Again I expressed that she be sure of this because we are on a very tight budget. Now four months later I get a bill for $680. I called and spoke to same lady who says she doesn't remember talking to me and that she never even spoke with my insurance company. They denied the benefit. I feel we were lied to and tricked into doing the more expensive procedure because they said it would only be the $250. My husband would of just had the tooth pulled if we knew the cost was going to be $670 on top of the $250.Desired SettlementI don't feel we owe the additional $670. They lied and hide the cost from us so they should not be billing us for what the insurance company didn't pay when they were asked to call and guarantee benefits and my out of pocket cost. Final Consumer Response Issue has been resolved.
