The company broke my mirror and damaged my fairings while in the shop. The mechanics were disrespectful and unwilling to compensate for damages. I brought my bike into the shop because of a noise from the lower left side that I could not identify. I asked the shop to inspect the cam chain tension and do a valve adjustment. After a month I was contacted and told that bike was finished and the noise was because of incorrect screw that was installed in the stator. I also was informed that they broke my mirror by "bumping" into the bike. I was told they would replace the mirror at no cost. When I arrived the next day to pick up my bike I inspected the damage. I noticed there were scratches to my fairings on the same side the mirror was broken. There were scratches on my muffler and touch up paint was applied to the scratches. I also noticed that the throttle handle bar was not put back together properly. When I brought this up to the mechanic he became very defensive and accused me of doing the damage myself. I told the mechanic the damage was NOT there prior. The mechanic kept walking away and leaving me with no information. Each time he returned he said they would do nothing to compensate for the damage. He told me I needed to "fess up" and admit to crashing the bike prior. I told the mechanic again that I never crashed the bike and I would not continue to deal with his disrespect. I asked to speak to the manager and they told me he was out of town. I did not want to leave my bike in the shop any longer, I paid for the services and asked to have the manager call me. The manager never called, I went to the store to speak to the manager the same day and was told he was busy. I waited 30 minutes and was never acknowledged. I left a message with the parts department to have the owner call me as soon as he was free. I never received a phone call. The bike clearly was dropped in the shop, not crashed as they claim. There is evidence to prove this. There are scratches where the mirror was, on the outer most right side fairing, and on the muffler. IF the bike were crashed, or layer down, the scratches would go on the handle bars, pegs, and on on the entire right side. The work order also shows that there was no damage noted when the bike was received in the shop. I also have the initial work order from 2 years ago where they replaced the stator cover, which they used the incorrect screw leading to the problem that I brought the bike into the shop initially. Desired SettlementI would like to see my fairings repaired/replaced and compensation for the work done. IF Fun products would have used the right screw from the previous work order I would have never had this issue and the bike would have never been in the shop. Also, if they bike would not have been damaged in the shop I would not have damaged fairings. Compensation is only settlement available. My bike was not scratched up prior to service and I will not settle for riding a damaged bike that is not my fault. I did not appreciate the hostile attitude of the mechanic and the accusations of lying and the lack of communication. I was very respectful during the entire process and to be met with that hostility and to have a mechanic who already damaged my bike question my integrity is very unprofessional. Business Response After speaking with Mr. [redacted] about his complaint with our company, over the phone and in person several times, we have reached a resolution. On August 28, 2014, we refunded Mr. [redacted] $369.22 for service work performed. Mr. [redacted] was extremely polite and respectful during the entire process. Mr. [redacted] said that a refund would resolve the problem and he thanked me for the refund and working with him to reach a resolution.
