Fungi Perfecti Reviews (%countItem)

I've purchased 3 previous mushroom patches from this company, all resulting in fine yields and no issues with development. The recent blue oyster patch was sent with only 4 visible holes in the plastic covering it, whereas there are supposed to be well more than a dozen. They refused to send a new bag, instead telling me to punch holes. I did according to their instructions. However, very few mushrooms ever emerged, certainly nothing at all like the picture they show in their catalog. I've sent countless emails doing exactly as told. They refuse to offer a refund

Thank you for facilitating, we had been working with *** from Feb 15th- March 8th on his mushroom patch and we had hoped to find a resolution. It is unfortunate that it has come to this, as with any agricultural product like a plant start or seeds, environmental factors play a huge role in their success. If he had troubleshooted with us, he would have likely been eligible for a replacement, per our policy. The patch can still be used outdoors, for further details please see our article http://www.fungi.com/blog/items/maximizing-your-mycelial-mileage.html I would first like to share pertinent company policies regarding live items, as posted on our website and agreed to by *** at the time of purchase: Live Item Terms of Sale Limitation of Liability: Fungi Perfecti warrants to the extent of the purchase price only that the indoor patches, mushroom plug spawn, and outdoor mushroom spawn sold are as described on the label within recognized tolerances. No other warranty is given, expressed or implied, of (1) the suitability of spawn for purposes beyond those endorsed by our instructions or (2) against loss due to factors beyond our control. We cannot accept any responsibility for the many uncontrollable growing conditions and climactic conditions (substrate preparation, environmental contaminants, temperature control, moisture control, etc.) that must be met to insure the success of your mushroom spawn.Indoor Mushroom Patches: Fungi Perfecti guarantees our Indoor Mushroom Patch™ products to perform within estimated parameters, provided that Patches are cared for in accordance with provided instruction booklet and any additional information provided by our customer service support team. I can certainly clarify. Though it may seem strange, please leave the mushroom patch in that bag it arrived in, and set up the humidity tent over the top. The blue Oyster patch should stay tightly bound in that bag for the duration of the fruiting process. If you inspect the bag that encloses your mushroom patch, there should be small arrow-shaped cuts regularly spaced about the patch (only about 1/4-1/2 inch diameter, staggered about 2.5" from each other). These openings are all that the mushroom patch needs- large mushrooms can burst forth from those teeny points! I hope this information helps, and welcome any further questions you may have. Best wishes for your mushroom cultivating future! Mush Love! On Fri, Feb 16, 2018 at 3:44 PM, Erika W <***> wrote: Hi ***, Thank you for following up, that can happen on occasion. If there are few holes punctured in the bag, then mushrooms would fruit from those locations, but it is a good idea to add some more of your own. Here's how to do this: 1. Make sure the bag is tight around the block of mycelium. If it is loose, you can twist the top like the end of a tootsie roll and secure it with tape or a rubber band. Now that you have a tightly bound bag of mycelium, it is time to create holes in the patch. 2. Take a clean knife and cut tiny X's all around the patch, spacing each X two inches apart. Two to three bands of these across the face of the patch would be more than sufficient. These are the locations from which the patch might form its mushrooms. 3. Once you have done this, you can proceed with setting it up under the provided humidity tent, in a location that receives ample circulation, ambient light, and does not exceed 65 °F. Begin misting regularly as described in the instruction booklet, and you should see mushrooms begin to form within a few weeks! I hope this information helps, and welcome any further questions you may have. We are happy to provide cultivation advice, and guarantee that the mushroom patches fruit, but do require that you try to grow them before any replacement could be offered. A clean kitchen knife is all you need to poke a few extra holes in the patch. With any mushroom patch, this one or others, it is normal to take upwards of two weeks before any primordia begin to develop. As written in the Company Policies, Fungi Perfecti guarantees our Indoor Mushroom Patch™ products to perform within estimated parameters, provided that Patches are cared for in accordance with provided instruction booklet and any additional information provided by our customer service support team. For me to provide the best possible support, please send a photo of the patch, and reply to the following questions: 1. Describe any steps you took after receiving the mushroom patch. 2. Describe the location of the patch - How warm is the room? 3. How much light does the patch receive? 4. Have you begun misting the patch? If yes: 5. What is your water source? 6. Describe your misting regimen - how much, how often? 7. What is the date on the small filter patch? From your responses, I'll be able to provide further guidance to make sure that you have the best possible start with this mushroom patch, and the greatest chances for success. Let me know if you have any further questions, I am happy to help. The rest of the primordia will "abort" and cease to receive nutrients from the patch, and often appear small and dry. It is important to make sure your bag is tightly bound to the patch, to minimize empty space inside of the bag. You can tighten the bag by twisting the top and taping it down in place. If no mushrooms begin to form near the openings that you have created within a week, then the conditions outside the bag are probably not ideal. For mushrooms to form outside the bag, humidity should be maintained around 80-90% underneath that humidity tent. To make sure humidity is high, you should be able to see humidity under the tent at all times in-between mistings. You can mist both the bag holding the patch and the inside of the humidity tent every time you mist, to help keep humidity up. You can make the holes a bit larger so the smaller mushrooms can escape the bag and form properly. Some may abort, just remove if they turn brown or shrivel up so that the patch can focus it's energy on the healthy developing mushrooms. Please know that the troubleshooting questions we ask (which you have ignored) are for your benefit and not ours. We can only help you as much as you allow us to. There are many environmental variables that must be considered for mushroom production, and as you have never replied to our troubleshooting questions, you are not eligible for a replacement.
