[redacted] hired my company to pet sit on two occasions. I did send an email to everyone letting them know that I had hired a few more people. I had others working for me at that point, but we had grown, so I hired more. She did tell me that she was concerned about the new hires, but I assured her that...

I would be keeping an eye on them. I did have other jobs that weekend like I always do. She knew both times that I had to leave sometimes and that I had people working for me at the time of both visits. She had an unsecurred yard. She signed a waiver stating "Fur Baby Whisperer is not responsible for any loss, injury or death that may occur to pets with open access to the outdoors while you're away. This includes dogs in a fenced yard, cats that roam outside, and dogs and cats that use a pet door to come and go. " "t is the pet owner's sole responsibility to “pet-proof” any areas of the home and/or property to which the pet(s) has access. This includes thoroughly inspecting fences, gates, latches, doors and other devices meant to contain the pet(s) or restrict access to specific areas. The pet sitter does not assume responsibility and has no liability for any injuries the pet(s) may sustain or property damage the pet(s) may cause while in their own home/property. " I had spoken to [redacted] about my concerns about the yard on my first visit. She was not worried. she even told me to kick the dogs outside if they start playing inside, because Pork Chop (her other dog) will attack them for playing indoors. Every time I would let the two dogs in question outside they would take off and be gone for long periods of time. My pet sitters were out looking for the dogs when the neighbors told them what had happened. [redacted] had told me that she would be home soon that day, so I had told Jessica and Leal to go ahead and head out. I was in fact walking dogs in Richland when I recieved the call about what had happened. I rushed straight over there. I spoke to the neighbors who refused to give me any information. I had planned on filing an insurance claim, because I did feel badly about what had happened. I spoke to them over the phone more than once and they refused to give me any information. I told them that I would not be able to help them, if they refused to give the information needed. I also was afraid for my safety, so I was not going to meet [redacted] or anyone else at heir home, and I was not going to invite them to mine. I am fairly sure from [redacted]'s verbal abuse that she would have in the very least punched me in the face. I did tell [redacted] to no longer call me after she became more and more verbally abusive to me. I told her that I was willing to work things out via text and/or email, but she was still verbally abusive, and would message me over and over at all times of the day. She did not want to talk about what I could do that make things right between us, even after apologizing several times. I eventually told her that there was nothing I could do, and told her to no longer contact me. I do not feel that I, or my contractors, did anything wrong at any point. However, I felt badly about the situation. I felt bably for the nieghbor's loss, and [redacted] was clearly upset, I wanted to make thing better, but nothing I said or did made any difference. Very quickly it became clear that she was only interested in chewing me out over and over. I do not believe that I could have done anything at any point to make things better either before or after the incident. I believe very strongly that those dogs would have eventually killed those chickens no matter who's care they were in, and the neighbors refused to even give me their names. I do not even know their address, because they would not tell me what neighbors they were. At no time did I lie to [redacted]. I feel that I did the best I could with a bad situation.
