Love seat was not as promised when received. Nothing in the store was the same. Requested refund and was denied because of credit offer.I ordered a glider/recliner love-seat after having been promised that it would be as comfortable as one of the couches in the store, and that the lever woulnd't be broken as it was on one of the other models. Both promises turned out to be untrue. As soon as I discovered the problem I reported it to the store. They said I could exchange it for another, equal item. There was no such thing in the store. My grandson suggested we just order another one and the saleslady said not to bother, that it would just have the same issues. I asked for a refund and was turned down because I had taken advantage of the 6-months-same-as-cash offer through GE. I called GE and they are going to try to intervene for me. I don't want to be saddled with a love seat I do not like and do not even want to sit on.Desired SettlementI want to return the love seat to the store (it has not been used and is in as good of shape as when I picked it up) and cancel the whole transaction. If I need to get an attorney involved I am requesting that they pay the legal fees if I the case is found in my favor.Business Response The customer's original purchase was on 2/15. The customer purchased from our showroom floor a loveseat glider recliner. The customer had ample opportunity to try out merchandize before receiving merchandize. Our records indicate at the time the customer received product it was receive in "good condition" the customer signed a release stating the same. After getting the product home the customer began to complain. The store replaced the product with the same piece. This was also not acceptable to the customer. The store then allowed the customer to reselect and the customer chose a different model of reclining loveseat. Documents again reflect that the customer received the exchange piece in "good condition" again after getting it home the customer was again dissatisfied. Again the store allowed the customer to reselect. This time the customer chose a completely different product, a power rocker recliner. Again the customer had ample time to inspect and try out product in the store again the customer signed paperwork stating product was received in "good condition." The store has a posted and stated policy on all paper work that the store does not offer refunds. The customer acknowledged this policy numerous times by signing documents that stated this very clear policy. The store attempted four times to give the customer what they chose. Every time the customer left the store it was with the impression that the customer now had what the customer wanted. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I agree with the flow of events but I do not agree with them placing the responsibility of the quality of the product on me. I took it home in the box and when I unpacked it I discovered it was not what I had been promised. It was broken and not comfortable like the supposedly comparable unit on the showroom floor. The second piece was also not what I had wanted. I "settled" on a third piece even though I do not particularly like it. I had been told to find a piece I liked at a different store, that they would be able to get the idential item, but then when I found it was told they couldn't do it. I did not get what I had wanted or what I had been promised. I'm willing to live with it because I am tired of the conflict.

I purchased from this company and have brought their attention to the fact that there is a problem with the furniture. Among other problems this one stands unresolved after months and many phone calls with no return calls. I had bought the furniture and 4 months after purchasing it I brought this to their attention. 3 months later nothing has been done to even try to resolve the issue. I feel the peice should be replaced not repaired as it is not even 1 year old We even e mailed pictures of the problem and still nothing.Product_Or_Service: Sofa reclinerDesired SettlementI feel a NEW sofa should be given to replace the faulty one. I do not trust them to repair or to be inconvienced by them again Final Consumer Response I have never been contacted again after many calls pictures being sent to Chuck. The furniture is less then a year old. Furniture discounters refused to refund monies for a cancelled lay away I was forced to either take more of their merchandise or just write my layaway funds off. They threatened me with the police. I feel that the 1 peice of furniture I did purchase that has a manufacture problem they would want to try to resolve this issue. The have never contacted me back in regards to this default. As a consumer and a returning customer this is the poorest customer service and relations I have ever experienced. It would be nice to have the peice replaced at this point. [redacted]. [redacted]. Ordered/paid for two(2) night stands a month ago. Would like refund, as I have not received them.On 02/15/2014, my husband and I purchased two night stands, a couch and two recliners. As they didn't have the night stands and one of the recliners, we ordered it, but paid IN FULL with Furniture Discounters. The sales rep, [redacted], promised that we'd have our night stands by that Friday (02/21/14). I have made many attempts to check the status of my order with a guy named [redacted]. He says that they're specially made-to-order and that he'd call when they arrived. However, when my recliner arrived to their warehouse, they neglected to call me and tell me that THAT had arrived. They only mentioned it after I had called inquiring about my night stands for the third time. I called them again on March 14th, 2014, this time asking for a manager. [redacted] answered and asked for my name and number, saying that the manager was helping in the warehouse and would have to call me back. I gave her my name and number and said the matter was urgent. The manager (who I'm assuming is [redacted]) never called me back. These night stands in question aren't anything to write home about; they're simple, lacking in detail and are simply built without any significant finishing touches. I'm fairly certain I could have built these myself in the amount of time that has past. We wanted our night stands when they were promised and ordered them from Furniture Discounters because of the price AND the time they said they'd have them for us. However, they have failed to own up to that promise; had we known that the night stands would be delayed this long we would have purchased them somewhere else.Desired SettlementAt this point, my husband and I would just want our money back. We'd rather go to a business that has integrity and give them our money. I'll never shop at Furniture Discounters again, so store credit is OUT OF THE QUESTION. I just want cash or my money returned to my credit card.Business Response The customer was refunded money via check. Furniture Discounters is extremely sorry for the severe delay in the merchandize ordered. While we duly ordered merchandize at the time of sale, the manufacturer was overwhelmed with orders for their product and was unable to meet any of our ETAs with our customers. It was of course an embarrassment for us and a gross inconvenience for the customer. We were able to make our customer service grievance and issues known to the manufacturer and have also acquired new vendors for that particular style of furniture to avoid such problems in the future. Again we are very sorry.
