she found Avon Wedding Barn on our website and loved it and knew she
wanted to book May 9,at our barnShe wanted to know the amount of the
deposit, I told her $She ask if she could bring cash and if she could
come out right awayShe was here within an hour I thinkShe loved it, I
explained all the contract and the information and rules about the barn
including the fact that all payments toward her wedding were
NON-refundable.(See line and line on receipt)
( See Attached forms) She seemed to be in a big hurry that dayShe
filled in the top of the Avon Wedding Barn Receipt and voluntarily paid a
deposit of $700.00.($more then requested)
I marked it paid on the right side of the receipt I
went into my house and xeroxed her a copy of the formI did not notice that
she did not sign the bottom of it but her handwriting is on the Bride and Groom
information at the top of the page
Below I copied and pasted all
the correspondence by email to/from ***
Please note Octat 11:
email where she states:
"Actually I'm
due on the 15th every monthIt's in my contract and that's we agreed
upon"
This indicates a
clear intention of a contract with AWB rather it is signed or not, in my
opinion, as well as all payments
over
months that were voluntarily brought to AWB to be paid, by ***
attached are the written
receipts of her payments made when she came
On Oct16th she called and said they could not afford
to continue their payments to AWB and wanted her money backI stated that I
never do that for brides because I clearly explained it verbally and in the
paperwork 2X it is written
I explained again to her that we
do this business for the purpose of raising money for Christian mission work
here locally and internationallyHer money given to me was not in the bank but
given to non-profit Christian missionsMost of the money this year has gone to
the DR to build a Bible college and fund an elementary school and support
churches/missionaries there
I told her that I manage a small wedding venue about
miles from AWB and that something I would be willing to do to to be kind and
help her was; to transfer her wedding to that barn and she could have it there
and it would be paid in full with the money she had given me thus far,
including a hayrideShe was very excited about that and agreed to do that on
the phone
On
On Oct16th
at 10:I wrote a confirmation
email to her on Oct(see below) then she called insisting to come see it
that day
She brought a very antagonistic friend with her who
changed the whole climate of *** and my business relationshipThis lady was
negative and ungrateful that I was trying to help *** be able to have a nice
wedding at the price she could afford
This lady talked *** into
"suing" me and made many threats to me
I explained that my rules had to
be consistent for all bridesI had had brides cancel before and I did not give
them their money back for whatever reason they gave me for cancelling and it
was not fair for me to treat anyone different. That is not good business
I had been kind to offer a very nice solution of the
other barnIt was a wonderful solution that *** was excited about on the
phoneI tried to help her solve her "low finances" dilemma
