Review: In January 2013 I called Furniture Technologies and ask for someone to come out to look at my Golden lift chair footrest support, which was broken. The repairman came and told me that the support was broken and should be covered by the lifetime warranty on the chair parts. He indicated that the repair costs would be from $100. to $200. dollars. I agreed to the price. He told me that it would take 2 weeks to get the part and that he would call me to set up a time to repair the chair. I waited 3 weeks and called him back. He said that he had not received the part, and that he would call me when he did. I have called him numerous times over the last 4 months. Each time it was always the excuse that Golden had not shipped the part. Finally in the middle of May 2013, my son-in-law called him and he told him, that he was "arguing" with Golden about weather or not the part was covered under the warranty. My son-in-law told him that we would pay for the part, that I just needed the chair repaired. He agreed to order the part and come and fix my chair. I called him the middle of June and left a message on his phone and ask when he would be able to repair my chair and if he had received the part. I got no call-back. I called again on June 10,2013 and left a message on his phone and told him that if I didn't receive a call-back that day, that I would file a complaint with the Revdex.com. I have not heard from him and I feel compelled to file this complaint. I hope you will publish this report, because of the nature of the product that needs repair. A lot of sick and elderly people depend on their lift chairs for some measure of independence. I offered to pay him in advance and he refused payment. I feel I should be compensated for my aggravation and lose of time.Desired Settlement: I feel that I should be compensated because the verbal contract was broken. I have since talked with Golden Chair Co. and they told me that someone called about the chair part in February and was told that the part was covered under the lifetime warranty, but he did not order the part. They put me in touch with Bridge Street Pharmacy in Elkin, NC. My chair is now at Bridge Street waiting for the part to be repaired. I thought that Furniture Technologies was the only repair company in the area.
