April **, 2015 Statement: Answering the Complaint ID [redacted] from [redacted] visited my office and requested my services in assisting in the process of filling out his...

federal and state tax returns for the year of 2014. I prepared the tax return for [redacted] and his father. I charged [redacted] $150.00 for his tax return and $125.00 for his father’s. I was very clear and transparent with [redacted] concerning the rates charged for the preparation of the tax return not for any other additional services that [redacted] claims in this case. The NYS of finance sent correspondence to [redacted] requesting evidence and authentication of the figures and information that [redacted] had reported on his income tax for 2014. I did not, at any given time, directly state or imply that the consultation and counsel involving the address of IRS inquiries were without charge. He emailed me the letter and I reviewed his case. [redacted], had called my office when he received the NYS notice and we promptly set an appointment for Friday, on April **, 2014. T he claim that I was not diligent in answering his call is baseless and when we did discuss the matter on the phone I made it evident that the issue would be addressed. Furthermore, I communicated with him that I would charge him a fee for the service I was going to provide him. That Friday was an extremely busy business day for a couple of reasons: 1)Friday is an opportune time for customers who have a busy work schedule during the week to come to the office, and 2) The deadline for filing state income tax returns was April [redacted], 5 days after the scheduled appointment. On this busy day, I invested 35 minutes of my time giving counsel and taking into consideration the fact that he was a client of mine. In that time, I could have seen two other clients and help them fill out their income taxes for $150.00 each. This is an indicator of me charging him a minimal fee for 30 minutes of the time while taking into consideration the fact that he initially filed his taxes with me. It is preposterous that I am demanded to return back the $50.00 that he paid for a service he received. On that day, we had several customers who visited the office for different concerns. [redacted] did wait for some time which was roughly about 45 minutes. The [redacted] who worked at the front desk was in charge of a variety of responsibilities such as answering incoming calls, answering the questions of the customers who were waiting while also making copies and handling paperwork. In my office, we uphold ourselves to a high standard of professionalism in order to deliver the best quality of service to all customers. Other customers who were there at the same time as [redacted] are witness to this and can discredit his claim that the [redacted] was being unprofessional. When I met with [redacted] we went over the steps he would need to take to address the inquiries of the NYS. I was straightforward with [redacted] and reiterated the fact that this counsel I was providing to him was a service and the charge would be $50.00. I was attentive to his concerns and gave him my best advice as someone who has been a tax preparer for 10 years. Afterwards, he asked if he could print out some documents for his case and I denied his request because I was busy with a multitude of clients and also had to print various documents. Disregarding what I had told him, he preceded to the front desk to ask the [redacted] to print out what he claimed was “a couple of pages” of his tax documents. The number of copies he made came out to be 24 pages ($.25 for each copy; total of $6.00). When the [redacted] asked for payment, [redacted] and his fiancé ignored her request and responded that he had already paid for the copies in the $50.00 that he paid to me. The [redacted] told [redacted] that this was a separate service and that he would have to pay for the copies that he made at my office. [redacted] and his fiancé began to sarcastically state that they would bring back papers his home to pay for the copies that he made. During this time, he was being to act impolite and disrespectful towards my [redacted] in f ront of the customers who were there waiting. [redacted] continued his tirade against my [redacted] and stated that he did not need to pay for the service and was causing a scene. [redacted] and his fiancé then left the office without paying for the copies of the 24 pages he printed. In this case, it can be proven and demonstrated that [redacted]’s claims are unsubstantiated and it is I who requires payment for the service he chose not to pay for. In addition to, there are several witnesses who can refute [redacted]’s claims and can recount what I am stating. I am willing to settle this issue and forgive the small amount of money that [redacted] owes to my business if he admits that the payment of the service he requested was justified and if he drops the complaint that he filed against my business. If this does not happen, I am willing to go to court in order this dispute this case in front of a judge of the claim in the court. In the 10 years that I have been running my business, never once has a compliant been filed against me. My record is a testament towards that. I have been diligent and professional in my work and in business rela tionships with my clients. I have always made sure that I have maintained a highly professional work environment for my customers. Sincerely, [redacted]

[redacted] This is my final reply to the complaint ID [redacted] that was filed against me from [redacted]. After carefully reviewing the complaint, I am convinced that [redacted]’s actions were fueled by unjustified animosity towards my business. I believe that he is looking to hurt the establishment which I have built and taken care of for the past 10 years. My business has been held to the highest of standards in order to make sure we offer the best service to our customers. I agree to reimburse the $50.00 that was charged to [redacted] for the counsel service that that he received on the issue of handling and preparing the response to the [redacted]s audit request for the tax year 2014. The amount of money that will be reimbursed is $44.00 which is the amount calculated after the deduction of his usage of the office’s copy machine to print 24 pages of documents that cost $6.00.  This is amount is correct because it was logged on the expense record by the [redacted]. The only condition in which I will agree to reimburse [redacted], is that he signs an agreement stating that he will withdraw his complaint. Furthermore, the agreement must be submitted to the Revdex.com simultaneously as I submit the payment to the Revdex.com. If there is a possibility that [redacted] does not accept this offer and terms then I will pursue legal action to a court of small claims. In this court, a judge or arbiter can determine the proper course of action after listening to both parties and witnesses pertaining to the case in order to finally put to rest this incident that has become a serious inconvenience. Sincerely, [redacted]

Review: I went to this business to fill my federal and state tax returns for the year 2014. I was being take care by the owner of the place [redacted]. He assured me as that part of his service he includes for free taking care of any error or inquiries from the IRS. My state tax return came with errors and I was contacted by the IRS. Then, I tried for several days to cantact him but he never answered or reply back to me. Finally after one week, he answered the phone but he didnt pay attention to error he created. So, I made an appointment for 12pm on Friday. I went there and I had to wait one hour (thats no even the problem) and I have to sit in the waiting room hearing the [redacted] that by the way is [redacted] sister and that had a lot of personal issues in her life. How do I know that? I knew all that because she was making personal phone calls and fighthing all the time over the phone very loudly to the point that it was very uncomfortably for everyone there. Finally It was my turn to see him. When talking to him, he was giving me the run around and taking no resposability about his services. He even made me pay additional because I had to talk to him. After leaving his office I stopped by the front desk to ask the [redacted] to print out 10 pages of my tax documents. After taking the copies she demanded that I had to pay more because of the copies because I made her use her paper (really) so my fiance told her that we already paid for the visit twice ($300 in total). An hour later the owner of the place [redacted] called me, so I returned the call thinking that it would be related to additional support regarding the inquiry of the IRS. For my surprise, he Talked to me in a very unprofessional way, rude, irrational and disrespectful, telling me that I was very disrespectul with him that I told his [redacted] that because we already paid for the service, we shouldnt be charged additional for the 10 copies.Desired Settlement: I am demanding that [redacted] and his business take full responsability on the services offered, including free advice and resolution of my state tax return inquiry and errors. I am requesting full protection of my private documents stored on [redacted] business, I am affraid of retaliation. I am very concerned about misuse of my information, including my social security. I demanding full refund of the adfitional money paid because It should have be included in his services as he said.
