[redacted] came in with a very poor brake pedal on his truck. He asked us to bleed the right front brake caliper. When we put the truck on the lift and took the R/F wheel off we noticed the caliper was loose! When we tried to tighten the caliper bolts the wheel wouldn't spin. The bolts were much too...
long. We took the bolts out and put washers on them to correct the length. The brake pedal felt much better. Upon further inspection we noticed the R/F brake hose was cracked, the left front brake pad was grinding into the rotor, and we thought we should replace the R/F caliper bracket. When we gave him our estimate he said it was too much money! Could he bring his own parts. We said yes but told him our labor rate charges up $20.00 per hour if anyone brings there own parts. We have a sign (enclosed) that states our labor policy on the wall. He was so upset that we didn't charge him for puting his truck on the lift and adjusting the bolts. The normal charge would have been $53.89 (see enclosed bill/estimate). We do try to please all our customers and do a proper repair at a fair price.
