Brought vehicle for motor issues. After repair on way home transmission emptied all liquids. Got towed back and now transfer case destroyed.
Sept 24, 2013, vehicle broke down. Called G&D. They picked up Sept 25, 2013. Said motor shot & replaced with good used motor. At some point said wheel bearing shot. We asked what side & when they said passenger we informed them we had that replaced already. They claimed not driveable yet let us take the vehicle. On way home liquid starting flying out all over. Called G&D & they towed back. They said it was the transfer case which we had replaced last year. Owner, [redacted], stated he had one and would put it in for a total price of $250. We were to get a call which we never received and never did get when promosed. I stopped in there on my way back from hunting and [redacted] said, "I will do whatever I can to get you back on the road. You can even pay later. I can also give you something use. I take care of my customers." He said he was having problems getting the transfer case to work and will get a Ford diesel with a goose neck hookup for us to use. I had told him we had a huge cattle sale we needed to get to and he wanted to help anyway he can. We never got a phone call so my mother called Oct. 15 to see what was going on. Someone answered the phone and said not to worry as they will get us a truck to use. My mother called Oct 16 and had to talk to [redacted]'s son, as [redacted] was ill and couldn't talk. He said the transfer case was shot, the one they had was shot and we had to buy a new one. He quoted $1300 plus $100 for installation. She talked to him Oct 17 and he could get it done or fix the truck they were going to let us use (no trailer lights or brakes) and we were guaranteed a vehicle by the end of the day. [redacted] said the transfer case was shot and burned. When I went in to check status [redacted] showed me where someone had forgotten to put a clip in somewhere in the transfer case. [redacted] had told me we could pay payments or pay later and when my mother told [redacted] this he flipped out and said the truck didn't leave without payment. She had just mentioned a large amount of money we would lose by not going to the cattle sale & [redacted] knew we had to get there today or tomorrow early a.m. at the latest. She said to check with [redacted] for confirmation & we would be willing to give a few checks for him to cash when we said. He said he would check & this time we actually got a promised call back. He talked to his mother who also owns the company & she said no money, no truck. My mother said then to put it back together as he had talked about. [redacted] said the truck wouldn't work and she said [redacted] said it was fine, we just wouldn't have four wheel drive. [redacted] said, "You know what...it is a piece of junk...I will put it back together. I will put the keys in the ignition & you can come get the piece of st." He then proceeded to hang up on her.
