I needed a garage door tune up and door balancing and possible the cable adjusted.

I responded to their Valpak advertisement for a New Rollers Lube and Tune up for $79.

The "manager" who came was [redacted]. He was not at all interested in what I called him for but tried very hard to either sell me a $549 repair or a new garage door.

I have a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and could tell that some of what [redacted] told me was just not factually supported. Put mildly it was non-sense designed in my opinion to make the small problem look very big so that they could make big sale. Even the prices quoted for cables ($99) were outlandish. They cost about $12.

When I did not bite [redacted] called his manager who then called me and offered 10% off the repair or $100 off the price of a new door ($1,240) WHICH WAS GRETALY INFLATED TO START WITH. Mesa garage doors would have charged me $800 for a new door … but I did not need one and I knew it.

In the end I found another company and they did the repair including a new cable for $100.

In my opinion GSD and [redacted] were just crooks. At the very least they displayed the Revdex.com accredited business logo and as far as I can tell they are NOT accredited. And they should not be.
