Review: Hired plumber, the owner of Giovanni's Plumbing to repair a defective single handle bath/shower system. The plumber stated that the entire housing was defective and required a full replacement which included the housing unit, brand new trim kit and all the necessary fittings. Also, in order to gain access to the housing behind the wall approximately 6 to 8 tiles and a wallboard section had to be removed and replaced. He spoke to my son and shared the same information. The plumber said that he would not start the job unless he received a down payment of $700.00 because he claimed the parts were expensive. I requested a proposal/invoice for my records, but he insisted that he would not provide until at the end of the job. I asked him if he was a licensed plumber as his flyer indicated, and he insisted that he was licensed and a specialist in his field. On 5/*/2013 I gave him a check for $700.00 per his request. The check was cashed the same day. To make a long story short, from what I understand, the plumber attempted to start a lesser job than he sold to me. He replaced the stem cartridge only, the leak was not sealed nor the system repaired and the plumber capped both the shower spout and the tub spout rendering the bathtub out of service. The plumber then abandoned the job. We attempted to contact him countless times thereafter, but either he did not answer or the call went to voicemail. The few instances that the plumber answered because I presume he did not recognize the number, he basically said that he was busy, at an emergency or on the way. After a month of this song and dance, the plumber made his true intentions very clear when he said that he did the job and if I had a problem I should take him to court and proceeded to hang up the phone. Please realize the shower/bathtub was out of commission for about a month until repaired in June.Desired Settlement: The proprietor of Giovanni's Plumbing should accept full responsibility because he did not deliver the services of which were agreed upon. He took advantage of a senior citizen in her time of need. He should at a minimum refund the full $700.00 because before this plumber was in the picture the shower was working, but in need of repair. After this plumber touched it, the shower was out of service until repaired by a reputable contractor.

Review: Down-payment of $2500 was given for a job that was never started. We were told they would come back to discuss a refund that would satisfy both parties. To date we have been calling both the father and son who were to perform the work and they either tell us they are on their way but never show up, send us to voice-mail or if we call from a different number they simply hang up on us.Desired Settlement: At this point we expect a full cash refund
