First of all, when he told us that the problem was the timing chain and it wasn't the starter like we thought it was I asked him specifically over the phone, isn't that covered under warranty and he said no it wasn't this was on June 11, I told him I don't understand how this part could have broken after only two years and the original one was on the car for yearsHe then proceeded to tell me it's an old car which seemed to be his reason for the chain breaking but, this has nothing to do with the chain breakingThe maintenance was kept up on the car which I have receipts forI know I'm not a mechanic but I honestly don't think that the age of the car doesn't have anything to do with a part breaking also, the parts you buy are usually covered from the auto supply storeLike I said in my recent complaint he then proceeded to tell me that he could replace the chain for and yes he did say that it may not fix the issue but, he was also told the car wasn't running when the chain broke which would be the main reason it would damage other parts of the engineWhen he replaced the timing chain he did not tell us that the chain had a year part and labor warrantyThis information was only said when I filed this complaint it is also NOT printed on the receipt (which I do have)It seems to me the only time he feels like he should explain about this warranty is when there is an issueAs I stated before the timing chain shouldn't have broken in two years (which it never was broken before that, it was done on his recommendation to replace it while he was doing the water pump)because if that was the case the original one would have broken long before that issueSo this is the reason I am not accepting his response to my complaint

First off the owner of Protire isn't paying bills for other shops and he clearly intends to keep lying and lying his way out. The truth in this matter is his company put my van and my life at risk and anybody knowing anything about brakes would understand this but not this owner. He owns the 2 shops but isn't willing to pay for anything. Wow and he keeps referencing my company and using my company as a reference to not refund anything. My company has refunded to the customer plenty of times and we do a well job and try hard and never would ever do anything in this manner and leave the customer hanging in a bad spot. ProTire takes joyrides and then does a sudden panic stop and this is taking care of your vehicle. I hope the Revdex.com understands that if two other reputable places tell me the issues and I have to pay another outfit to do Protires work then that is sad. Anyways the comments on me cussing and being rude are clearly not true and the good lord above knows the truth. I hope the Revdex.com does there job because ripping off consumers is really bad.

On March 8, 2012 we replaced the water pump, timing chain & gear set. The water pump that we put on did have a defect where it was leaking and we replaced it under warranty. The repairs that were done came with a 1 year parts & labor warranty. If there would have been a problem during that...

time the parts would have been replace at no cost to the customer. The parts were not installed incorrectly. If they were installed incorrectly it would not have run in time with no issues for 25 months and 27,000 miles. I explained to the customer that its possible that there is internal damage and even putting a new chain on might not fix the car. I told them that if they wanted me to install a new chain set that I would do it for $600.00 but I could not guarantee that it would fix the car. I also gave them an estimate on replacing the motor but explained that the cost to replace the motor would exceed the value of the car but that I would be glad to do either for them if that what they wanted. They said that they would think about it and let me know what they wanted to do. Instead of coming back to me and talking they sent a letter to the Revdex.com.
