In response to this complaint I did speak with the father in-law of [redacted] and [redacted] herself to inform them both of the price and the work. We had a seven man crew removing ice and snow from the roof. The $1000 charged is on average what we charge per job. Any questions please call...
Top to bottom did extensive work on my house during May, June and July of 2015. They were very courteous, respectful and professional. They worked 10-12 hour days to resolve the many problems resulting form a poor roofing job done by another roofer. Owner John Geer explained every detail along the way and worked closely with my insurance adjuster. My house has never functioned so well or been as comfortable. Today they adjusted a stubborn door problem with the same attention to detail and quick thorough work they exhibited for the large overhaul last year. They are the best!
Life Time Warranty means nothing. I called regarding my front step repair that was done in Sept 2000. I was told I should have called sooner-like the next year. And I was told it was something I must have done. Then Jonathan said he would stop by to look at it and leave a note, he never did.
Revdex.com spoke with the business today and John stated the following:There were 7 men there and we were there for 4 hours. We were there on Friday night and we had planned on returning on Monday. The customer became angry with us over the weekend. She contacted us Monday morning and left a message and stated that she did not want us to come back. She called her insurance company, and then called again and said that her insurance company told her not to let us come back. She was upset that the calcium chloride was going to kill her grass. We did remove all of the snow and ice from the roof. We actually had left a few shovels behind because we planned on returning on Monday. Once all of the ice and snow is removed, we then have to insure that the doorways are clear and any furnace vents were clear at ground level and driveways, etc. which involves snowblowing and manually shoveling.Her roof appeared to have multiple layers and inadequate ice shield and we believed that a new roof was necessary in the future and she was offered $1,500.0 off the cost of a new roof if we were hired to put it on.

sump pump always running , bad smell when raining he gave me an estimate which was more than reasonable he and his crew showed up when they said they would. did what they said they would and more they have been very professional through the whole process john has been there with his crew ,I have delt with many contractors this is one of the most positive experiences I have ever had. and my problem has been taken care of .as the owner of a small automotive repair shop in Rochester I know how hard it is operate a small business .John is very easy to deal with and does what he says &more
I hit the jack pot when I hired Top to Bottom Home Improvement Company. My house needed major renovations from the basement to the roof and also the sunroom. Owner, John Geer and his talented crew restored my home to a beautiful and safe place that I can call home.
I am so thankful for their skilled craftsmanship! I would recommend Top to Bottom Construction Company to all of my family and friends! [redacted], Webster New York.

Today I received Mr. G[redacted] reply to my complaint.
First, he does not address the matter of false advertising his membership in NAHB and NARI.
Second, would you not react...not overreact to a bill that was $5,984 over the original quote? Excavation quote of $5500 increased by $750 for removal/replacement of onecinderblock-really!Roof quote of $5220 increased by$5221-really!
Third, he is now threatening me for cost of dumpster $380. When I advised him that I thought this should also be included in price of roof, he stated,"that's not how it is done in thebusiness."See enclosed bill from prior roof work....everthing was included!
Fourth, I had absolutely zero water damage in any ceiling in my house which you would expect to see if there was so much damage...if anything, according to Mr. Geer's reply, I needednew gutters not a new roof.

John Geer stated that he is an inspector for the Better Contractor's Bureau. I have since learned that there is no such position. Prior to coming to my home, he gave me an estimate of around $1000. Based on that, I rejected another contractor's estimate of around $1300. Mr. Geer stated that his price is competitive. He cited the prices of a contractor by the name of [redacted]. I have since learned that [redacted]'s rate is $100 per hour. Since John Geer's crew was here for approximately 1 hour, his price is clearly not competitive.
Mr. Geer is misrepresenting himself and providing completely erroneous estimates over the phone. His business practices are unethical and the public should be protected from contractors such as he. The other contractors who are currently doing remodeling work on my home are especially upset by his practices because they feel that he tarnishes the reputation of all contractors and makes it especially difficult for them to do business. They are feeding me some of the data that I cite in my complaint. The Revdex.com is remiss if they do not take action to protect the public from this man's conduct.
