G L Dart replaced my roof, damaged by hail in After completion, an area next to my chimney leaked all the way into my basementMy large wrap-around porch also leaked intermittently through the beaded board in two placesDart wouldn't take responsibilityThey blamed the chimney leak first on the foundation and then wanted me to pay them to replace my chimney capMy roof didn't leak before replacement The flashing wasn't initially replaced around chimneyDart eventually replaced it, but not wellEvery time it leaked they added more caulkTwo independent inspectors said the cap was good and the caulking was a temporary fix & was contributing to the leakI paid another company to fix the issuesIt turns out the leaks on the porch were due to Dart butting the felt paper up to the flashing instead of tucking it under the flashingThe first course of shingles reaching the flashing were also not tucked under itThere was moisture under the shingles and under the felt paper

For the sake of your money and your sanity, do not do business with this company They are unprofessional as can be They do not perform any work that you have specified They hire hacks who suck at their job They also hire thieves So if you want things stolen from your home, by all means, hire G L Dart They will cut more corners than you can count The owner is a smug, young crook who is only interested in making money Hire anyone but them, grab someone off the street who doesn't even do construction, they will probably do a better job If you hire this company after reading my review, I have no pity for you It's simply hard to put into words of how badly they suck I could probably write a book about it AVOID!!!!

My large wrap-around porch also leaked intermittently through the beaded board in two places. Dart wouldn't take responsibility. They blamed the chimney leak first on the foundation and then wanted me to pay them to replace my chimney cap. My roof didn't leak before replacement. The flashing wasn't initially replaced around chimney. Dart eventually replaced it, but not well. Every time it leaked they added more caulk. Two independent inspectors said the cap was good and the caulking was a temporary fix & was contributing to the leak. I paid another company to fix the issues. It turns out the leaks on the porch were due to Dart butting the felt paper up to the flashing instead of tucking it under the flashing. The first course of shingles reaching the flashing were also not tucked under it. There was moisture under the shingles and under the felt paper.
